Twirl Zone Inc., of Saint John, captured 18 medals during the BNB 2009 Atlantic Challenge Open Regional Baton Competition at C.S.C. Lafontaine School in Neguac. The medal total included nine gold, four silver and five bronze. Team members, back row from left, include: Kendra MacPhee and Stephanie Middleton. Twirl Zone team earns 25 medals
ROTHESAY - The Twirl Zone Inc. Club captured 11 gold, six silver and eight bronze medals at the 2009 St. Patrick's Day Open Regional Baton Competition at Rothesay High School. Sam Beckwith and Emma Gauthier earned blue ribbons in the pre-solo dance, while Emma Gauthier won silver in medley. In age 9-11C, Sam Beckwith placed third. In 12-14C, Amanda Thompson placed third. In age 4-8BN Jordyn Danells captured gold as did Kayla Burgess, 15-17BN. Kendra MacPhee placed third in the 15-17BN. In solo, age 4-8C, Jordyn Danells was first. In 9-11C, Sam Beckwith was third, Amanda Thompson took first in 12-14C while in 15-17BN, Kayla Burgess was first. In open junior b compulsories, Kayla Burgess won gold. In duet BN, Melanie DeVarenne and Amanda Thompson place third. In two-baton, 4-8C, Jordyn Danells was second, in 9-11C Melanie DeVarenne was first. Amanda Thompson won gold in 12-14C, while Kendra MacPhee was second in 15-17BN. In 15-17BI, Kayla Burgess was second while Stephanie Middleton won the 18 BI crown. In three-baton, 15-17C, Kayla Burgess was second while in 18 C Stephanie Middleton captured gold. In solo dance, 12-14C, Amanda Thompson was first. In 4-8BN, Jordyn Danells placed third. In 15-17BN, Kendra MacPhee was first while in 15-17BI, Kayla Burgess finished second.

Thanks for Brenda Arsenault-LeBlanc, Monica, Annick, Courtney & her mom, Melanie, Lisa & her mom for cheering me on and supporting me at the Worlds!! Also Thanks to Mari Hearn-Zych and Mandi for also cheering me on at Worlds!! Who knew Mandi and I would be in front at the Half Time game. Thanks Mari for taking us for breakfast before we left to go back to NB. Great seeing both of you again!
