Important information on Dehydration and Football Safety
Now that very hot and humid weather has finally set in, one concern for our coaches is making sure kids stay hydrated. Dehydration is a very real problem during hot summer nights on the football field. We in WB Pop Warner make it mandatory that coaches give kids a water break at least every 15 minutes, and sometimes more often. Dehydration symptoms can begin even before a kid is thirsty, so we have asked our coaches to stay aware and give the kids a break...often.
