2009 Packers Hall of Fame Class
We would like to announce the first inductee into the Westchester Packers Hall of Fame. The Packers will induct Billy Sullivan into the Hall in 2009. The Founder of the Westchester Packers will be the first member and will blaze a new trail for Packers to follow. Billy's success as head coach of the Packers is well documented and his contributions to the team will never be forgotten. Most these days will remember George Davis as the face of the Packers, but it was Billy Sullivan who brought George in as his Defensive Coordinator. He would hand the keys to the organization to George in 1986. After his retirement the Packers have won 4 league championships the most recent one being the 2007 BNEFF title under new owner Mike Elia. That would also be George Davis' Last full season as head coach. Billy Sullivan's 35 game winning streak is still a record today.

Packers Add MVP Darrisaw!

In a blockbuster move the Packers have added 2008 BNEFF Empire Conference MVP Rashid "Slushy" Darrisaw. This move comes as a surprise since no one would have expected Darrisaw to test free agency. He will reunite with his former coach Jeff Barnes as he has signed with the Packers. Another reason that this move is shocking is because Barnes has maintained that he would refrain recruiting Spartan players all offseason. "I am happy to be a Packer" said Darrisaw. "I wanted to move on and play for a team that I knew would compete and utilize my skills." Coach Barnes would add "Slush is a special talent. When we spoke and he mentioned that he wanted to be a Packer I was hesitant to pursue that conversation. As we spoke more I realized how serious he was about moving on and just said the ball is in your court. Rashid made his decision. I'm glad since you would rather have him make plays for you than against you." This move will seriously impact the Empire Conference.

Darrisaw was the force in the Empire as his defensive skills suffocated teams' passing games, His return skills dazzled and his receiving skills got him a Unity Bowl appearance. He was among the league leaders in catches, receiving yards, touchdowns and yards per catch. He was a force on the New York Bandits as they ran away with the EFA Championship. Now he will bring his skills to the Packers with hopes of returning this proud organization back to championship glory. He was hired last year as the Defensive Backs Coach at ASA College in Brooklyn. Expect Coach Darrisaw to pay big dividends for the Packers this season.

2009 BNEFF All Star Game
Keystone Allstars run away with another Unity Bowl Victory!

The Keystone Conference has been dominant ever since the interleague play began with the 2008 BNEFF Allstar game. Last year the Keystone escaped with a 8-0 win. This year there would be no doubt as they would never trail after jumping out to a 12-0 lead in the 1st quarter. The Empire would get on the board with a Matthew Hewitt 74 yards TD pass to Donell Williams. The Longhorns passing connection would be the only score of the first half for the Empire. Hewitt would throw an interception with just minutes left in the first half to give the Keystone the ball deep in Empire territory setting up Greg Garrett for the first of his two Td runs to put the Keystone ahead 20-6 at the half. The Keystone would score two more touchdowns to increase their lead in the 4th quarter to 34-6. A late Rashid Darrisaw score made it a final 34-12 win for the Keystone. Packers Head Coach Jeff Barnes and Owner Mike Elia shared playcalling duties. Charles Burney, James Perrineau, Lamar Williams, Conroy Jackson and Rolando Ruiz represented the Pack well. Coach Barnes would comment after the game "You have to give it to the Keystone players. They made the plays to win the game. We didn't. It always comes down to what happens between the lines. They earned it." Well with the success of the 2009 Unity Bowl expect the BNEFF to build towards the kickoff of the 2009 season.
