In an effort to offer a complete sports program from kindergarten transitioning into school sponsored sports in 7th grade, Big Sandy ISD Athletics is partnering with the youth sports organization, Peak Performance. The organization will coordinate youth basketball, track, baseball, football, volleyball, and various sports camps for all of Big Sandy youth. All sports will offer consistency in fundamentals, competition principles, and quality coaching designed to compliment Big Sandy ISD Athletics.

Athletic Director Larry Minter says, "Im excited!!!! I think this is going to be an opportunity to excel for Big Sandy youth." He further stated, "Peak Performance brings a new level of professionalism and a wealth of experience in coordinating and coaching. For the first time all youth sports in Big Sandy will be under one umbrella with improved communication and organization."

Peak Performance is a sport based organization specializing in youth sports coordination and coaching. The mission is to provide opportunity for all youth to develop fundamentals, improved athleticism, passion for sports, and life skills. Their motto is Developing Champions in Life for Life, which they accomplish by combining purpose, structure, and quality instruction in an enthusiastic and safe environment.

Peak Performance is led by Director's Garrett and Kay Bachert, who recently relocated their family to Big Sandy. Both competed at high level collegiate sports programs and have over 20 years experience as business, life, and sports coaches. They have personally mentored hundreds to high levels of success; along with public speaking and training in front of audiences of thousands. Garrett and Kay have four children; Keziah 11, Jezreel 8, Mikyla 7, and Gabriel 6, all attending Big Sandy ISD. Both agreed, saying, "We are thrilled for the opportunity to work as an extension of Big Sandy ISD Athletics and helping kids be their best through sports. We recognize many wonderful volunteers have dedicated themselves to youth sports over the years; it will be an honor to carry the torch forward."

Big Sandy's Athletic Department and Peak Performance will be hosting a meet and greet session open to all. This event is an opportunity for community members, parents, and kids to come hear more about the overall program. The event will be held on Wednesday November 2 from 5:30-6:30 pm in the main gym at Big Sandy ISD. There will be an informal presentation from Athletic Director Larry Minter and Peak Performance Directors Garrett and Kay Bachert, followed by a Q&A time.
