The objective of the league is to administer a youth baseball and softball program for the children of the community. The league’s primary objective is to provide exercise, fun and recreation, and to introduce the player to organized play and healthy competition to develop attitude, sportsmanship, teamwork, athleticism and knowledge of the sport.

The Cedar Grove Junior Baseball and Softball League is an equal opportunity organization that encourages boys and girls to participate in either the baseball or the softball division of the League.

Dear Baseball and Softball Coaches:

Due to the changes in the Township of Cedar Grove policy any and all coaches in Cedar Grove must now have a background check done (fingerprinted) in order to allow them to coach our children. We must follow the procedure outlined below to work with the Township of Cedar Grove.

The process for the background checks between is as follows:

Coach gets the form from Recreation Department - please note the coach himself/herself must go to the Recreation Department between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm Mon-Fri to pick up the form. Nobody else can get the form for you.

Form will have directions on how to schedule appointment and what to bring (identification).

Coach will bring form to appointment and get receipt upon completion of fingerprinting. There is no out-of-pocket expense to the coach as long as you bring the form you will get from the Recreation Director Marisa Landolfi. The receipt you get upon completion of the fingerprinting you must hold onto.

John Kennedy will receive the results of the background check and turn them over to Marisa Landolfi. 
 
One of the big questions asked has been if I have had a fingerprint check done beforeor I am doing it for the Board of Ed or I am a teacher or in law enforcement do I still need to do this and the answer is yes to all. We are required to have everyone go and get into the database that is setup for this fingerprinting, there is nobody excluded or "grandfathered" in.

If you coach any other sport in town, when you go the Recreation Department, please let Marisa Landolfi know what other sports you coach so he can update his records accordingly.
