THE CHILL

There are many options for you and your daughter to choose from to play club softball in New Jersey. Thank You for taking a moment to learn a little bit more about the CHILL. I firmly believe that while there are many wrong ways to coach, there are also just as many right ways. One thing you will never hear from a CHILL coach is that "our way" is the only way. You have a better chance of getting politicians to agree than coaches. That being said, there is ONE approach in softball (and life!) that is 100% successful and can not be disputed. FOCUS & EFFORT lead to POSITIVE RESULTS! Whether our daughter's dreams include playing softball at Stanford or studying medicine or law at Stanford or maybe even both, THEY WILL NEED FOCUS & EFFORT TO ACHIEVE THOSE GOALS.

We work very hard to maintain a positive environment for the athletes, while teaching them accountability and responsibility to the TEAM & their TEAMMATES. Yelling and screaming at mistakes is not our style. If you are looking for that, there are many other club teams that will provide it.

The CHILL want athletes and families that are committed to giving the FOCUS & EFFORT required to succeed. All teams have different personalities. Some kids are super intense and scowl in the dugout, while others tell jokes and laugh. Both can be successful as long as when the ump yells, "Play Ball", they are physically prepared through practice, FOCUSED in the moment of every pitch, and willing to give their max effort on every pitch.

Our Season Outline looks something like this.........

FALL
We will practice 2/week on weeks with no tourney and 1/week on tourney weeks. We will play some local Friendlies and a couple of full weekend tourneys while mixing in some scrimmages with other local teams that we have good relations with.

WINTER
We will practice 2/week from Dec. - March. Winter workouts will focus on hitting, pitching, strength, conditioning & agility training. We will employ hitting and pitching instructors to support our coaching staff and all physical training will be run by professional trainers with a NJ Licensed physical therapist's over site to ensure the well being of our athletes.

SPRING / SUMMER
We will practice 1/week during the school year. ACADEMICS must come first and our athletes must give their school team proper attention. We will play or practice on open weekends based on the various school schedules and focus the bulk of our tournament play after the school season ends. We will play through July and culminate our season at one of the National's offered by ASA OR PGF

FUNDRAISING
There will be several opportunities throughout the year to raise money to lower the costs associated with club ball. We will actively pursue team sponsors and support your efforts in obtaining sponsors specifically for your athlete. We will host at least 1 BEEF & BEER event with our CHILL sisters in different age groups.

TEAM BUILDING
We will have several events throughout the year for the girls to spend time together away from the pressure of the field. Our goal is that their experience with the CHILL will help them grow as young ladies as well as athletes.

That is just a little bit about who we are. If we sound like a good fit for your athlete and family, come check us out. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have about the CHILL, OUR COACHES OR OUR PHILOSOPHY.

Best Wishes for a Great 2012-2013 season, wherever you choose to play.
