Welcome to Pack 601's home on the web!
Founded in 1959, Pack 601 has provided a quality Cub Scout program for over 53 years thanks to all the dedicated volunteer leaders and chartered organizations, presently the Sons of Italy. Currently, we have more than 80 scouts in our pack and many trained and experienced leaders. We have also 'bridged' dozens of boys from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts where they have continued on the path of Scouting. Our Pack meetings are the 4th Monday of every month and are held at Farmingdale Public Library, Farmingdale, NY at 7PM.
Our Pack meetings are where all of our dens come together to have fun and to share in their Scouting achievements. This is a family event where everyone has fun! The scouts take turns in conducting our flag ceremonies, skits, and receiving their advancement awards. The pack remains active during the summer also, but at a more relaxed level by having picnics and field trips!
Our pack's basic philosophy is to go places, do things, and spread the spirit of Scouting. Over the years, we have had sleepovers on the USS New Jersey and USS Massachusetts, the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey. We also visited the Statue of Liberty, Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Radio City Christmas Show, Museums; and participated in so many civic activities and service projects that they can't be listed here! Hiking and camping are also regular activities. Come join us for non-stop fun and learning.
Additional to the Pack meetings and events, each den has a meeting approximately one (1) day each week during the school year to work on rank and badge requirements. Anyone who would like to visit us may do so. Just stop on in and join the fun!!
A boy and/or adult is registered with our pack once a BSA application is completed and turned in with the registration fee. Our annual re-charter fee is approximately $65.00 per year. The fee for a second scout in the same family is $55.00. Monthly den dues for each boy are set by the den and run a few dollars per month and help the Den Leaders supply craft materials needed for the den, instant recognitions, fund field trips and purchase monthly advancements and awards.
Thank you for visiting our Pack’s homepage. We are proudly serve the Farmingdale, North Massapequa, and Massapequa Park areas.

AIM FOR THE STARS
September 23, 2012
The words, "Aim for the Stars" have an important meaning to Cub Scouts. Think of Thomas Edison who tried and failed hundreds of times before he perfected the electric light bulb. He never quit trying. A Cub Scout, who tries to do his best and keeps trying, is preparing himself for greater responsibilities when he becomes a man. What you do and how well you do it becomes your launching pad to "Aim for the Stars."
