PIGEON FORGE'S DIRECTOR CONTACTED US THIS MORNING AND ASKED IF DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF SEVERE WEATHER TONIGHT WE MIGHT BE WILLING TO POSTPONE THE GAMES. WE HAVE AGREED. THEREFORE TONIGHT'S GAME VS PIGEON FORGE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL TUESDAY (10/6).

E.M.F.C. & the Directors of the 4 games that were postponed last night have decided to move all 4 of those games to October 24th. It was determined that it would be to difficult on working parents to play those games on a school night. This means that our game Vs Pigeon Forge will now be played on 10/24 instead of 10/6. We apologize for all the scheduling changes, but the Directors felt this would be better for everyone. 

Practice this week will proceed as normal, (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.) to prepare for our next game Vs Jefferson City. 

Our Annual Chili Supper will be held Tuesday, October 13th during practice.

If you would like to make a crock pot full of Chili, a sign up sheet will be available in the concession stand. 

We are asking each team to donate items if you are not donating Chili. Please bring the following items on or before 10/13:

Cost will be $3.00 for bowl of Chili with fixin's & dessert.

While there isn't a rod run or convention that we are aware of in Sevier County this weekend, there will most likely be a lot of Fall (Leaves Changing) traffic on Hwy 66 & 441 tomorrow. We suggest if you plan to use Hwy 66 / 441 to get to Gatlinburg that you give yourself plenty of time. 

The following alternate route to get to Gatlinburg-Pittman High School might be a good idea:

The field we will play on is actually beside Gatlinburg-Pittman High School, but as we understand it parking at the high school and walking to it is best.

Reminders for today's game Vs Pigeon Forge:

Weekend traffic on 441 will probably be moderate. But we still suggest that you allow extra time to make your game if you plan to use 441.

Xenith Helmets along with BSN sports of Knoxville will be making a presentation for our parents during practice Saturday (4/23) beginning at 10:00 A.M. at our field. Xenith Helmets are widely regarded as the cutting edge in safer football headgear. We believe this presentation is well worth everyone's time and would ask that all parents try to attend if possible. Football players DO practice when it rains(we will cancel if it is thundering or lightening in the area)....Pee Wees and Grasscutters will NOT practice Saturday....Concession stand will NOT be opened Saturday so please make sure you have a drink...the football helmet guy can not come Saturday so we will reschedule when we start back in July

Due to weather tonights practice is canceled!

The last day of spring practice is Saturday (which usually is not a actual practice day). Equipment is due turned back in by Saturday 4-30-16. We will be there at 9:30am to start collecting equipment. Please wash uniform and put back in bag with your name on a sheet of paper in the bag. If you will not be able to turn in your equipment by Saturday please turn it in before (you will get it back in July). We will be placing the custom Jersey order after spring practice if there is anyone who still wishes to order one for their child please see Joel Henderson to pick your # and pay. Also remember if you have drinks and stuff at the field please throw it away before leaving. We are all volunteers at the field and we are having to spend extra time after practice cleaning up.

If you did not turn in equipment the last Saturday of spring practice you have another opportunity to turn it in tomorrow 5-11-16 at the field between 5:30 pm and 6:30pm. Please have it all in the bag and child's name on a sheet of paper in the bag.

Information from Robb Seahorn @ Champion Physical Therapy in Knoxville: (Robb is a physical therapist and is originally from the White Pine area as well a JCHS Graduate)

***I am now offering comprehensive therapeutic concussion management. The ImPACT Application System is used world wide and has been a leader in research and management of concussions. Much of the work has been based on University of Pittsburg's program which sees 20,000 concussions per year. They have been studying this complicated injury for many years, well before it came into national prominence. Being certified in their program allows us to provide baseline testing (pre-season testing) to determine the cognitive, visual, vestibular and balance function. If a concussive event occurs, we can retest the athlete and can provide a much more accurate assessment of their recovery prognosis and set a specialized plan of care that will guide the athlete comprehensively through their recovery. This can be of great benefit to the physician to help determine the best course of action. Having dealt with many of these injuries over the last 20 years, I have felt, at times, I could have done a better job. These are complicated injuries that can not just be told to go home and rest till your symptoms go away. Research shows it is critical to address the involved area of the brain to assist and guide the athlete thru their recovery. This system provides a proven assessment and approach to accurately diagnose the involved areas of the brain that need to be rehabilitated. In conjunction with the athletes physician, we will be able to set a comprehensive treatment plan to guide the athlete safely back to their sport. We would never send an athlete with an ACL sprain home to just rest. We would evaluate them, rehabilitate the injury, and perform sport specific assessments to ensure they were ready to compete again in their sport. I'm excited to be able to provide this service. We can evaluate athletes from 8 years and older. The testing takes approximately 45 minutes including instruction of the test, taking the computerized test, and perform a balance assessment. It's BRONCO time in Dandridge!

• Football & Cheer practice begins this Monday (7/25) from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the field. 
• Football players will be going 'Helmets Only' next week and will only need to wear: helmets, mouthpieces, cleats, T-shirts & shorts.
• Full pad practice will begin on 8/1. (Reminder, the orange pants with the blue stripe and the solid orange jerseys with the blue stripe are for games only. Please wear the orange mesh jerseys and older blue or plain orange pants you were issued for practices.)
• For those of you that turned equipment after Spring Practice, we will be re-issuing it Monday before practice.
• Don't forget, it is a requirement that a parent or guardian must be present at the field during all practices. 
• Also if you have not paid your sign up fee it is due Monday. 

Coaches:

Football & Cheer coaches that have not yet completed the mandatory concussion training and background check will not be allowed to coach until those are completed.

Here is the choice of the breast cancer t-shirts that you can pre-order. Money is due by Tuesday September 13, 2016. You can choose heathered gray or retro heathered pink. Shirts will be $10 for short sleeve sizes Small to X-Large and $12 for sizes 2XL and up. You can also choose long sleeve in the gray color which will be $13 for sizes Small to X-Large and $15 for sizes 2XL and up. We will take orders through September 13th. PS: Dont forget the JCHS Patriots home game tonight at 7:30pm. If your child wears their jersey they will enter for free. Also if they will meet at the high jump area at 7:00pm Coach Riley and the players will speak to them as they head back to the locker room.

This weeks game is against Claiborne Co. The game will be played at Soldiers Memorial Middle School 1510 Legion St. Tazewell TN 37879. Remember this is a early game. The grasscutters game will start promptly at 11:00am (as soon as it is over super grasscutters will play and as soon as it is over PeeWees will play) so please be there at the time given by your coach. Also know that it is about a hour or so to get there so please allow plenty of time.

This Saturday's game is against Pigeon Forge. There will be a b-team game for the grasscutters starting at 4pm. Grasscutters need to be at our home field by 3:15pm. Super Grasscutters and Pee Wees will play a 5th quarter(like a b-team game) (final score will be based on 4 quarters). Please be at field at time given by Coach.

 

If you volunteered to work this weeks game please show up at the appropriate times. Also with there being a b-team game and you are scheduled to work in the concession stand if you could come a little early that would be great. People will start getting to field about 3pm and they come hungry.

 

We are taking 2017 Board Nominations. You can pick up 2017 Board Nomination Forms and 2016 By-Laws in Concession stand. Remember this organization runs off volunteers! It takes a village to raise these fine young people. We need all the help we can get.

If you would like to follow people to the game tomorrow they will be meeting at the Field of Dreams football field @ 11:00 A.M. to decorate and paint cars(bring your own stuff). They they will leave around 11:30 A.M. to head to Pigeon Forge.

The end of a great football and cheer season is here! We sent all 3 teams to the Super Bowl and our 3 Cheer teams got Superior at Cheer competition. What a great organization to be part of. Thank you to all of our wonderful coaches and parents who step in each week and give all they have.

From the Director John Thomas:

Saturday we accomplished something that I am sure has never been done before. We won all three divisions of the conference and The Bobby Rader Memorial Sportsmanship Award. The Super Bowls are great but we are most proud of the Sportsmanship Award because in the end games and championships come and go, but the ultimate goal of any youth sports organization should be to better prepare our youth for their future. Thanks to everyone for all that you do and I could not be any prouder of this program and this community.

End of the year banquet will be December 3, 2016 @ 5:00 P.M. at the Field of Dreams Activity Center. If you did not turn your uniform in please bring to banquet.

All Broncos are invited to participate in the annual Dandridge Christmas Parade this Saturday (12/17/16). The floats will begin lining up at 11:30 A.M. around Mary Middle School, with the parade beginning at 1:00 P.M., we suggest that you bet here around 12:00 P.M. This will give you ample time to find your team and be ready when the parade begins. If our trailers get there at the same time we will all be back to back but if not look for your team. We suggest parking as close to Maury as possible and walk the circle until you find us. Parents can pick up kids at Maury after the parade has ended. If your child would like to throw candy please send it with them. Also the weather is not looking good for Saturday. If we were to cancel we will try to decide by 10am so everyone gets plenty of notice. You can check back here or facebook for info.

2015 BRONCO FUNDRAISER

The Broncos will be selling Bojangles Discount Cards this year. The cards will be sold for $5.00 each. It is a savings of over $15.00

·     Cards will be signed out 10 at a time. You are responsible for what you sign out at full retail value ($5.00 per card)

·     Starts Thursday, Aug. 20 thru Thursday, Sept. 24

·     Every 10 cards sold, a ticket will be put in a drawing for an XBOX One. The more you sell, the more chances you have to win

·     Drawing will be Saturday, Sept. 26 during our Homecoming Ceremony prior to our game with Claiborne County

·     Cheerleaders can use this fundraiser to go toward Homecoming Queen Competition OR toward XBOX One drawing, not both.

This decision needs to be known when money is turned in. If using as Homecoming fundraiser, you will get $4.00 credit per card sold- not $5.00

·     We prefer cash, but if necessary please have checks made payable to Dandridge Youth Football

It will begin at 4:00 P.M. Grasscutter's will need to be at the field by 3:15 P.M. Saturday to participate.

Jefferson City has installed lights at their field. So Saturday's games will be night games.

Have a safe & fun Labor Day Weekend Bronco Nation!

Parents don't forget, weigh in is tomorrow (8/22) and it is MANDATORY. You MUST be present for weigh in tomorrow to participate. No showing jamboree is not an option. NO SHOW = NO PLAY. 

Jamboree is hosted by Jefferson City and will be held at Jefferson County High School. 

We are scheduled to begin weighing in our players at 12:00 P.M. 

All players should be at the J.C.H.S. no later than 11:00 A.M. in the morning. Please don't try to cut it close. There will be no "do overs" if you are 15 minutes late. 

If your child is close to the limit to play a backfield position (70.5 lbs. for Grasscutters, 100.5 lbs for Supers & 125.5 lbs. for Pee Wees) then please remember, whatever they walk into the weigh station with is what they are weighed with. If you dress them in full pads, they can't take anything off once they enter the weigh station. Even if they have a drink in their hand they have to weigh with the drink. All that they are required to have on is their game jersey and a pair of shorts.

Nothing else. 

All three teams will play an 8:00 minute quarter after weigh in, beginning with the Grasscutters. So bring the complete game uniform to dress into after weigh in.

Everyone has to pay admission at Jamboree. This includes coaches. 

A BIG thank you to Service Electric Company for fixing our light pole in less than 24 hours. They really pulled our chestnuts out of the fire on this. We were in danger of losing access to our field for possibly the entire season. If you see a Service Electric truck behind you in a drive thru, buy them a sandwich!

Also, thank you to the City of Dandridge as well as Greg Gann & the Public Works Department who jumped on this and made it happen!

We had an unfortunate accident yesterday at the field. A delivery truck backed into the large concrete light pole behind our home stands and cracked it at the base. The city has determined that it is unsafe and will need to be removed & replaced. As a result the field is closed until the pole can at least be removed.

Practice tonight:
We will practice tonight on the soccer field. This goes for all football & cheer teams. The gate to the field will be locked, so no concessions or bathrooms. There are port-a-potties at the rear baseball field for emergencies. Bring a chair. 
Carter is coming to scrimmage the Pee Wee's only.

It appears Mother Nature does not like us practicing. We will try it again tomorrow night.

Teams will warm up in end zones and shake hands afterwards in the end zone as well.

Picture Day will be Friday (8/7/15) beginning at 5:30 P.M. at the field. (Weather permitting)

If it's just rain, we practice.

Our first day of practice will be Monday, July 27th from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

This begins practice for both Football & Cheer. 

Practice is typically Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Football: The first week will be helmets & cleats only. No pads otherwise. For those that turned in equipment in the spring, we will be at the field at 5:30 P.M. on practice nights to re-issue your equipment.

We have been fortunate enough to have Spencer Riley bring his football camp back to Dandridge this year.

Spencer is a Jefferson County native and was a highly decorated All American lineman for Jefferson County High School. He went on to have a stellar career at the University of Tennessee blocking for the likes of Tee Martin and Peyton Manning, culminating in two SEC Championships and a BCS National Championship in 1998. Spencer is currently the offensive line coach at Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN.

We understand that budgets can get tight this time of year with multiple camps, vacations, etc. So we had asked Spencer to scale back on things last year like a free camp t-shirt, and extra helpers so that we could make this camp as affordable as possible. As a result we got a great price of $25.00 per camper, unfortunately the downside was he could only handle so many campers with limited helpers. That is why the camp was only open to Super-Grasscutter and Pee Wee age campers last year. He just didn't have the help to include the Grasscutters. Spencer really did not like having to leave out the younger campers, so this year he has not only found a sponsor for free T-shirts to give to the older campers but he's also added a day just for the Grasscutter age campers. This will enable a low cost camp experience to all of our participants.

Your coaching staffs have gone to a great deal of effort to make this camp happen, and they strongly encourage participation in it. We need at least 20 campers to make this camp happen, so please complete the attached registration form and send in a.s.a.p.!

Equipment Turn In:

We will all be turning in equipment Saturday so that the pads can be disinfected. Please wash all washable items and place in the equipment bag that was issued to you. Please make sure that the player's name is on the equipment bag tag. Pee Wees & Grasscutters will just need to put their helmets in the the bags after they practice tomorrow. For those that have purchased their own helmets you do not need to turn those in to us, but if you would like us to disinfect it for you we will be happy to do that. 

The Jefferson City Patriots Pee Wee's & Supers teams will be coming to our field for a scrimmage tonight beginning at 6:00 P.M. 

We realize that some are in soccer & baseball already, but we would ask that everyone make an attempt to be there tonight so that we have enough players to actually have a scrimmage. 

Spring Practice

Spring Practice begins tomorrow from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. This will be a 'Helmets Only' practice, players should wear their helmets, shorts, T-shirts & cleats. (Metal tipped cleats are not allowed.) The only other thing they will need tomorrow is a mouth piece. Mouth pieces are available in the concession stand for $2.00. (Keep in mind when buying a mouth piece, it must be colored & have a strap.) The Grasscutters (5, 6 & 7 yr olds) have decided to practice on the soccer field, which is the grassy area to the left of our parking lot. The Supers & Pee Wee's will be on the main field.

For those that have not picked up equipment yet, we will be available for equipment fittings starting at 5:30 P.M.

For those wanting to avoid the chaos of getting fitted for equipment on 4/6, we will be available next Thursday & Friday (4/2 & 4/3) from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

If possible we would like the Pee Wee team members to arrive first, and then the Super Grasscutters around 7:00 P.M. on Thursday. Grasscutters will then have Friday to themselves.

Xenith Helmets along with BSN Sports of Knoxville will be making a presentation for our parents before practice this Saturday (4/11) beginning at 10:00 A.M. at our field. Xenith Helmets are widely regarded as the cutting edge in safer football headgear. The board will be voting for both Football & Cheer Director positions for the upcoming 2015 season at our 1/14/15 meeting. Individuals interested in being considered for either of these positions must contact a current board member prior to 1/12/15 and state their intentions to run. Last minute applications will not be considered.

Due to the high likelihood of rain Saturday, we will not be participating as a group in the Dandridge Christmas Parade this year. 

With the all the sick kids we have now & flu season in full swing, rain and 40 degree weather is probably not a super idea.

No bathrooms, Porta Potty only. (That pregame Route 44 limeade & Chili Cheese Coney... not such a good idea.) 

Supers & Pee Wee's don't try to cut it close on your arrival time. Once a team gets a 24 point lead the clock will run continuously, which in turn speeds up all the games. Cutting it close might mean you show up in the 3rd quarter of your game!

The Broncos Breast Cancer Awareness shirts were a big hit, so for those that missed the numerous announcements about pre-ordering the first batch we will be ordering a 2nd batch. Please see Melinda Breeden at Monday's (10/6) practice to pre-order. Youth Small - Adult XL are $10.00 and Adult XXL and larger will be $12.00. Money must be turned in Monday (10/6). We can't give you an exact date that they will be back, but the supplier said that they would put a rush on them for us.

Jefferson City has agreed to participate in a Grasscutter B-Team game beginning at 4:00 P.M. this Saturday prior to the start of the Grasscutter game.

(Grasscutter B-Team needs to arrive by 3:15 P.M. and Grasscutter A-Team needs to arrive at 4:00 P.M.)

Also, we will be having a "5th Quarter" with the Jefferson City Super Grasscutters immediately following the Super Grasscutter game. 

(Supers need to arrive at 5:30 P.M. and be dressed and in the end zone ready to warm up at the beginning of the 3rd quarter GC game.)

Unfortunately, Jefferson City did not want to do a "5th Quarter" for the Pee Wee's, so there will not be any Pee Wee B-team action.

Ice Water Challenge

Jefferson City coaches have challenged all three divisions to an ice water challenge and the Broncos have accepted. 

Immediately following each respective game (GC's, SGC's and PW's) the Head Coach from the losing team will get a nice refreshing cooler of ice water dumped on them.

Thank you to the Parrottsville community for making tonight's scrimmage a good experience for everyone!

We have agreed to travel to Sevierville this coming Thursday (8/14) and scrimmage the Bears. Details:

• All three teams will be scrimmaging. Grasscutters, Supers & Pee Wees
• Scrimmage will begin at 6:00 P.M. and run until 8:00 P.M. just like a normal practice. So we need everyone dressed and ready to warm up at 6:00 P.M. 
• If you do not know where the Sevierville field is, you can hit the 'Directions' link at left and then select 'Sevierville' from the drop down box.
• We will be wearing our practice uniforms, this is not a dress scrimmage like the Parrottsville scrimmage on 8/16.
• If you cannot make it to this scrimmage because of the travel involved we understand. But we would like as many as possible to attend, this will be good experience for all three teams to work against a solid opponent.

GO BRONCOS!

We still have a few 2014 Booster Club shirts available and when they're gone, they're really gone! Admission to any 2014 game at our field is free when you have a booster shirt on, so counting the preseason game on 8/16 that is at least 5 and most likely 6 games (counting a playoff game) you would get in free! You are basically getting a nice Broncos shirt for around $5 - $10!

The Parrottsville Parrotts have agreed to come and play us on Saturday, August 16th. We will be treating this like a real game, there will be referees and the teams will dress in game uniforms. Grasscutters will kickoff at 5:00 P.M. followed by the Supers at 6:30 P.M. and finally the Pee Wee's at 8:00 P.M. We will be charging admission at this event, Adults $5.00 & $1.00 for Children 17 and under. Even though we are treating this like a real game, it will not count for either team in the official E.M.F.C. standings.

Well the rain got us. Picture day has been re-scheduled for Friday, August 15th beginning at 5:00 P.M. Same schedule as was previously announced, Grasscutter cheer will go first followed by Super & PW cheer. Football Grasscutters will follow PW Cheer and then Super & PW football. Sorry for the delay, but mother nature loves a good re-schedule. 

The Pee Wee's decided yesterday to celebrate the end of all that "couch time" they've obviously been enjoying over the summer with an extra practice tonight. Not to be out done, the Supers and Grasscutters cutters have also decided to celebrate with them as well. 

Here's the deal tonight:

Grasscutters & Supers practice from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. / Helmets only

Pee Wees practice from 6:30 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. (To give the rising 6th graders time to finish Maury orientation) / Helmets only 

At this time cheer is not practicing tonight. If that changes, it will be posted.

 

Picture Day for both Cheer & Football will be Friday August, 8th beginning at 5:00 P.M.

Grasscutter Cheer will go first followed by SG Cheer & Pee Wee Cheer. Grasscutter Football will follow PW Cheer then SG Football and finally Pee Wee Football. There will not be a practice on picture night, so the game uniforms shouldn't get dirty. 

Football will need to dress in full game uniforms:

• Orange jersey with royal blue stripe & white numbers
• Shoulder Pads
• Orange pants with royal blue stripe
• Girdle
• Blue belt (These have not been issued, but will be before picture day)

It's BRONCO time in Dandridge!

• Football & Cheer practice begins this Monday (7/28) from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the field. 
• Football players will be going 'Helmets Only' next week and will only need to wear: helmets, mouthpieces, cleats, T-shirts & shorts.
• Full pad practice will begin on 8/4. (Reminder, the orange pants with the blue stripe and the solid orange jerseys with the blue stripe are for games only. Please wear the orange mesh jerseys and older blue or plain orange pants you were issued for practices.)
• For those of you that turned equipment after Spring Practice, we will be re-issuing it Monday before practice.
• Don't forget, it is a requirement that a parent or guardian must be present at the field during all practices.

Spencer has decided that the lightning is going to hold off tonight and it's just going to be a little wet. That being the case the last night of camp is on, or as he put it: "Football is played in the rain, so why would you not practice it in the rain?" :)

It looks like the weather is not going to cooperate with the Camp on Monday & Tuesday. Instead of getting rained out, Spencer has decided to move the Camp to 7/16, 7/17 & 7/18 same time 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Sorry for the late notice, we were hoping the forecast might change.

Good news, we have enough campers signed up to have the camp. If you plan to attend and have not yet mailed your registration form to Spencer, he has asked that instead of mailing it in if you would please just email him at rileysfootballcamp@yahoo.com and let him know how many campers you will be signing up. Also, if you have the means to scan the completed registration form and attach it to the email you can do that as well. Otherwise just complete the form and bring it to the sign up table on Monday (7/14) at 5:00 P.M.

We have been fortunate enough to have Spencer Riley bring his football camp back to Dandridge this year.

Spencer is a Jefferson County native and was a highly decorated All American lineman for Jefferson County High School. He went on to have a stellar career at the University of Tennessee blocking for the likes of Tee Martin and Peyton Manning, culminating in two SEC Championships and a BCS National Championship in 1998. Spencer is currently the offensive line coach at Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN.

We understand that budgets can get tight this time of year with multiple camps, vacations, etc. So we have asked Spencer to scale back on things like a free camp t-shirt, and extra helpers so we can make this camp as affordable as possible. As a result we get a great price like $25.00 per camper, unfortunately the downside is he can only handle so many campers with limited helpers. This is why the camp is only open to Super-Grasscutter and Pee Wee age campers. He just doesn't have the help to include the Grasscutters.

Your coaching staffs have gone to a great deal of effort to make this camp happen, and they strongly encourage participation in it. We need at least 20 campers to make this camp happen, so please complete the registration form below and send in a.s.a.p.!

There will be no more Grasscutter workouts this month.

The Grasscutters have decided to have workouts the month of June. These workouts are completely voluntary and will begin on Monday June 2nd at 6:00 P.M. and last until 7:00 P.M. and thereafter every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Remember football is finished, but cheer still has their fittings scheduled for Monday (5/19) beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the field. (Football players that didn't make it today can turn in their equipment on Monday as well.)

Saturday's (5/17) practice will be helmets only. Please wash girdles, pants and practice jerseys, place in equipment bags along with shoulder pads & knee pads and bring with you to practice. When practice is over players can simply put their helmets in the bag and turn in. We will reissue equipment on 7/28/14. This will be our last practice for Spring.

Monday's (5/19) practice has been cancelled, as it was originally planned as equipment turn in day anyway.

Maury Middle Athletics is hosting a benefit featuring Vol For Life Inky Johnson on May 9th, 2014, at 6:00 P.M. - First Baptist Church in Dandridge. All Broncos currently signed up for the 2014 season will be admitted for free. (Football and Cheer) Tickets for parents are $5.00 per person and we will have some tickets available in the concession stand leading up to the event. All proceeds go directly to Maury Middle School Athletics. 

There seems to be some confusion regarding out last non-pad workout on Thursday (5/1). We will be practicing in shorts and t-shirts Thursday at our normal 6:00 - 8:00 time. Our first day of pads will be this Saturday (5/3) from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. We suggest that you do try on all the equipment you were issued and if sizing adjustments need to be made, please bring those to our attention on Thursday.

Cheerleading uniform fittings will be held on Monday, May 19th 2014 at our field. Schedule as follows:

Pee Wees: 6:00 P.M. - 6:45 P.M.

Supers: 6:45 P.M. - 7:15 P.M.

Grasscutters: 7:15 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Please be on time and wear a bathing suit and socks!

New this year:

• If you had a V-neck bodyliner last year, you will be required to purchase a turtleneck bodyliner this year.
• All cheerleaders will have to purchase new socks, shoes, hair bows and pom poms EACH YEAR.
• Payment for cheerleading items is due at the time of purchase up to about $190.00.
• DO NOT ASK to hold a payment or wait for payment, as this will hold up the entire cheerleading order. Again, money is due at the time of purchase.

The plan remains to hand out equipment tonight, no practice.

We know some may not want to get out in light of the incoming weather, but we will be there from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. for the brave souls that do.

If the forecast holds it looks like there is a very good chance we will get rained out on Tuesday (4/29). Assuming that's gonna happen, we're going to take advantage of the wasted night and issue equipment Tuesday instead. This will give everyone a chance to make sure everything fits properly before our first padded practice on 5/3. We will need a parent to come up with them to sign for the equipment. (This is football only)

Grasscutters will go first at 6:00 P.M.

Supers will go next at around 6:45 P.M.

Pee Wees will be issued immediately after Supers.

Tennessee has enacted a law effective 1/1/14 which requires that we must now have a concussion information form signed by both a parent or guardian as well the child participating. This applies to both cheer & football. And yes, we realize how stupid it sounds to require a 5 year old to sign a form that there's no way they understand, but it's the law now. EMFC has taken this very seriously, and will require us to have one of these forms signed for each football player and each cheerleader at Jamboree.

No Concussion Form at Jamboree = No Play.

We would've liked to have had this form ready for sign ups so you could've just completed it with all the other forms, but we just received confirmation that this is the form that EMFC wants.

All Broncos are invited to participate in the annual Dandridge Christmas Parade this Saturday (12/21/13). The floats will begin lining up at 11:30 A.M. around Maury Middle School, with the parade beginning at 1:30 P.M. Each team will have a float to ride on, and we suggest that you be there around 12:30 P.M. This will give you ample time to find your float and be ready when the parade begins. Since we have no control over where in the line they will put each float, the best we can suggest is to park as close to Maury Middle School as possible and walk the circle until you find us. Parents can pick up kids at Maury after the parade has ended. If your child would like to throw candy please send it with them.

E.M.F.C. football directors met on 3/1, here are some items of interest from that meeting:

• The divisions have been reset once again. The new division alignment has been updated and is available by clicking the 'E.M.F.C. Divisions' link at left.
• The 2014 schedule has been set and is available by clicking the 'Schedule' link at left.
• Playoffs have been reworked once again as well. The top 4 teams from each division (AFC / NFC) will advance to the playoff as normal. The AFC 1 seed will play the NFC 4 seed and the AFC 2 seed will play the NFC 3 seed on each side, and so forth. Below is how the new bracket will look:

The board has made a few changes for fundraising for this season.

Homecoming Queen fundraising drive will end at the end of practice on Thursday, September 19th. All money must be turned in to Cheer Director Patricia Wilkerson that night for it to be counted toward the Homecoming Queen contest. 

(New Parents - Our cheerleaders raise money for Homecoming, with each squad's top fundraiser being crowned Queen prior to our Homecoming game on October 5th.)

If the total funds raised by all three cheer squads exceeds $6,000.00 the girls can wear whatever they want for Homecoming. Within reason. (Not this) ;-)

The Homecoming Queen winner will also receive a $50.00 gift card in addition to her crown and other queenly swag. Also, every girl raising at least $100.00 will be receiving a trophy & $10.00 gift card.

Since the boys fundraiser (golf tournament) was a bust, their fundraiser this year will be Krispy Kreme Doughnut sales. The boys fundraiser will also end at the end of practice on Thursday, September 19th. All money must be turned into Treasurer Melinda Breeden that night for it to count toward the contest. The boy who raises the most money will receive a $100.00 gift card. Any boy raising at least $100.00 will receive a $10.00 gift card.

Cheer Picture Day: 

There is a 70% - 80% chance of rain tomorrow, so as bad as we hate to do it we've canceled picture day for cheer tomorrow morning. We will re-schedule as soon as possible. One more time for clarity:

NO PICTURE DAY TOMORROW (8/10/13) FOR FOOTBALL OR CHEER. 

AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO PICTURE SCHEDULED FOR ANYONE.

WE WILL LET YOU KNOW AS SOON AS WE RE-SCHEDULE BOTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER.

Status of uniforms:

For football players who signed up late (Late would be any time after March 2013) We have been in constant contact with our supplier and he understands that we must have them no later than 8/24 for our first game. For scrimmages and things like Meet the Patriots tomorrow, your practice stuff with be fine. For those that out grew their uniforms over the summer, we have added those replacements to the order and they have promised to have them ready by 8/24 also. In the mean time the only event where a missing jersey with be an issue is at jamboree. You are technically supposed to have your game jersey with the correct number on when you are weighed in. If the jerseys are not back in time for jamboree on 8/17, they have told us we can just let them wear an orange shirt with the number taped on it with white masking tape. For the ones that out grew the jersey, you can just squeeze into the one we have and get your picture taken in it. Again late order jerseys and game pants should be here soon and we will let you know when they are.

Booster Club shirts: 

Our 2013 Booster Club T-shirt will be available at next Tuesday's practice (8/13). The cost for this stylish new piece of Bronco Swag will be $35.00, and jsut like last year it will get you into all 4 of our home games and any playoff games that are held at our field. So worse case scenario you will only have $15.00 in it, and probably less in the event of a playoff game. (Pee Wee head coach Jason Kelly has all but guaranteed another undefeated season to me, so we should be good for at least one playoff game.) 

Game Uniform:

I see a lot of players wearing the blue game socks we issued. That's fine, but you might want to think about using those sparingly. We don't have replacements and they will have to make it thru a long season. 

Same goes for game jerseys and pants. Please do not wear your game uniform in practice. (Game uniform is the orange pants with blue stripe and the orange jersey with name on it) If you do not have a pair of practice pants or jersey, please see me, Eddie or Chris for one. 

Our game belts are the royal blue ones we issued. New parents... those belts are one size fits all. Which means you will have to put it in the pants and on the player and then cut it off to size. Leave yourself about 4 - 6 inches of excess when you cut them. Also, you will need to take a lighter and singe the cut end to keep them from un-raveling.

Parents need to be there at least an hour early, have player dressed and ready there are no changing rooms. (I would suggest everything but helmets and shoulder pads.) Game uniform if you have it, if not just do the best you can with practice stuff.

Please make sure that you have tried on the game uniforms (orange pants and jersey) and made sure that they fit. We have several that outgrew their fitted size from Spring and now will need larger sizes made. That order has to be made today (8/6) for it to have any chance of being back by our first game. We have re-scheduled Varsity fittings for cheer on May 16th, at 4:00 P.M. at the field. This is the one and only time Varsity will be here. Girls must be present for this fitting. Money must be paid in full that night, and that night only. We apologize for the short notice and multiple date changes, it was out of our control.

The board meeting scheduled for 6/12 has been moved to 6/20.

Thanks to everyone for making this year’s sign-ups such a success! We managed to sign-up and fit equipment for over 120 football players as well as sign-up almost 50 cheerleaders! We appreciate everyone’s patience and participation and look forward to another great year of Broncos football & cheerleading. Go Broncos!!! 

E.M.F.C. football directors met on 3/9, here are some items of interest from that meeting:

• The divisions have been reset once again. The new division alignment has been updated and is available by clicking the 'E.M.F.C. Divisions' link at left.
• The release of the 2013 schedule will be delayed because of division re-alignment. The 2013 schedule will be announced a.s.a.p.
• Only the top 4 teams from each division (AFC / NFC) will advance to the playoffs. The 1 seed will play the 4 seed and the 2 seed will play the 3 seed on each side. The AFC & NFC brackets will remain locked, there will be no cross seeding this year. Below is how the new bracket will look: 

• A new 7 on 7 flag football season open from 5/20 to 6/21 was approved. This will be helmet only and participation is optional. More details to follow.
• Instituted a dead period from 7/1 to 7/31. No team is to have any football related activities during this time.

Tonight will be the final practice for all teams. The schedule will be as follows:

Grasscutters: No pads. T-Shirts, shorts & cleats. Please wash girdle, pants and jersey and bring all back in same equipment bag it was issued in. Someone will be checking in during practice. 

Supers: Helmets, T-Shirts, shorts & cleats. Please wash girdle, pants and jersey and bring all back in same equipment bag it was issued in. Someone will be checking in during practice. When practice is over we will just collect helmets and place in the players bag.

Pee Wees: No practice. Just equipment turn in. Please wash and sack up in same equipment bag it was issued in.

Again tonight is the last practice until 8/1/13. Tomorrow (5/18) was scheduled as a make up day in case we got rained out one day.

* If you missed or can't make it on your child's sign-up date please feel free to come to whichever date is convenient.

New for 2013:

• The sign-up fee is now $75.00. Football & Cheer.
• In addition to the sign-up fee we are offering an optional 'volunteer opt-out' fee of $25.00. We understand that not everyone is able to help out, be it work schedule or other time related issue. Sometimes you would rather just pay a little extra and not have to fool with dodging us when we ask for help in the concession stand. We understand and this fee is for you. Simply tell us at sign-up that you prefer to pay the fee, and add it to your total. For those choosing not to pay this fee, we just ask that you commit at sign-up to 4 volunteer efforts (i.e. concession stand, gate, field maintenance, etc.) during the season. The fee or commitments is per family not per child. (If you have multiple children in the program you would only pay one fee or 4 commitments.)
• Football will be going 'full pads' during spring practice this year. Because of this we will need to fit players with pads at sign-ups. This is why we are splitting up the sign-ups according to team. Hopefully splitting the teams up some will help avoid delays. We understand that not everyone will be able to attend on their child's assigned sign-up date, we just ask everyone to do the best they can. Please feel free to attend any of the sign-up times. (Equipment will not be issued until 5/4/13.)
• Custom jersey option. See details below.

Don't forget to bring a state issued copy of your child's birth certificate.

Cheer uniform fittings will not be held at sign-ups. Cheer packs will be between $177.00 - $185.00 this year, and will not be due at sign-ups.

Below is a mock up of our new game uniforms.

We will be offering parents the option of either purchasing or fundraising for a customized jersey with your child's last name imprinted on it. After our season is over the jersey would be yours to keep. 

Options:

• Fundraise for it - Just sell 25 dozen Krispy Kreme Doughnut's between Sign-ups and 5/4/13.
  Order forms available at Sign-ups.

• Just buy it - Write a check for $50.00 anytime between Sign-ups and 5/4/13.

Questions:

If we decide not to purchase or fundraise for a custom jersey will our child's jersey be different than his teammates?

• No, the only difference would be no name on the back. Otherwise it will be the exact same jersey, and you would turn it in at the end of the season as usual.

Will my child be able to wear this jersey for multiple seasons?

• Yes, we hope to get 3 - 5 years use out of these jerseys. Compared to our old game uniforms these are superior in quality and should hold up much better. So as long as it fits they should be able to wear it for several seasons. 

Do we get to keep the pants also?

• No, just the jerseys. Pants will be turned at the end of the season as usual.

All Broncos are invited to participate in the Dandridge Christmas Parade. The parade is December 22nd at 1:30 P.M. Line up for the floats will be at 12:30 P.M. and for those who would like to come and help decorate their float please be there at 12:30 P.M. If you just want to ride please be there by 1:00 P.M. as the parade starts at 1:30 P.M. Also please bring a bag of candy.

Football players will be turning in their equipment Saturday (11/17).

Super Grasscutter's are asked to arrive between 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

A fee of $250.00 will charged for un-returned football equipment, and $135.00 for Cheer uniforms. The board will begin collection attempts starting 12/1, so if you will be delayed in returning your equipment please let us know as soon as possible to avoid us sending a needless registered letter! :)

We have had several Cheer parents request that we change the Cheer turn in date to this Saturday. To accommodate this we are changing Cheer turn in to Saturday (11/17) beginning at 9:00 A.M. This will be the only Cheer turn in, the previously scheduled turn in on 11/13 will not be held.

Pee Wee's finish off a perfect 12-0 season with a second win over the Newport Roosters 20-6 to repeat as E.M.F.C. Super Bowl Champions.

Super's drop a hard fought game to the Pigeon Forge Tigers 12-13, and finish their season 9-3 as 2012 E.M.F.C. Super Bowl Runners Up.

Grasscutter's win a thriller on a last play touchdown run over the Newport Roosters 25-20 to finish with a 9-3 record and E.M.F.C. Super Bowl Champions.

As most of you know the Board has decided to purchase pullover jackets for all three teams (football & cheer) to commemorate all teams making it to the Super Bowl this year. All jackets will have "Dandridge Broncos" along with our logo monogrammed on the chest. Grasscutter's & Pee Wee's will also have "2012 Super Bowl Champions" added. If you have not already given your child's size to us, we ask that you please email us at DandridgeBroncos@gmail.com. Please include the following information: size needed, player/cheerleader name & team. Size range is adult XS - adult 6XL. (no youth sizes) Also, if you as a parent are interested in purchasing a jacket simply include your size in same email. The cost per jacket is $30.00, and money will be collected at the Awards Banquet. The deadline for getting the sizes to us is Wednesday 11/21, if we don't receive a size for a player/cheerleader we will still order your child a jacket using our best judgement on size. We hope to have the jackets here by the Awards Banquet.

Grasscutter football practice has been cancelled for tonight.

Picture day for all Cheer squads will be this Thursday (9/27). Individual pictures will beginning at 5:00 P.M. Please dress in your game outfits. This will be rain or shine, if it rains we will move to the Field of Dreams Activity Center next door to the field.

Pee Wee & Super Grasscutter football pictures have been re-scheduled for the following dates:

As most of you know we have tried to take more advantage of our website's e-mail feature this year to keep everyone up to date on happenings in Bronco Land. And for the most part it has worked out to be a fairly handy tool, unfortunately though just after we sent out the last e-mail update on 8/15/12 our entire e-mail database just disappeared. I have been attempting to work with tech support for several days to recover it, but they were not able to help us. It's just gone. So as bad as I hate to do it, I have to ask everyone to please re-enter your e-mail addresses on our website. This can be done by going to the site and clicking the link under the 'Join Our E-mail List' button on the left side of our page just below the menus. We apologize for the inconvenience. (On the up side, tech support did show me how to back-up the database, so after we rebuild it this will not happen again.)

The start time for our second game with Pigeon Forge on 9/1/12 has been moved up from 5:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Also the Super Grasscutters will be the first game played that day, instead of the Grasscutters. Here is what the schedule that day will look like:

Since we will be there anyway, we have decided to add a practice tomorrow (8/3/12) after the fitting makeup. All three football (Grasscutter, Super Grasscutter, and Pee Wee) teams will practice from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. This is Football ONLY.

All head coaches, assistant coaches and team mothers are asked to please contact Kristi Whillock no later than July 23rd and provide her with the necessary information for completing the required background check. (Applies to both football & cheerleading) This is very important, coaches/team mothers missing the July 23rd deadline may not be eligible to coach this year. Kristi can be reached at 865-387-4260.

A make up equipment fitting will be held on August 3rd from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at our field. All players that have not yet been fitted are encouraged to attend. (Football Only)

The EMFC coaches meeting will be held at the Sevierville field house on July 28th at 10:30 A.M. Head coach attendance is required, assistant coach attendance is optional but encouraged.

We are moving the practice time for our first three practices (7/30, 7/31 & 8/2) from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. in an attempt to avoid possible excessive heat. All other practices will remain 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. unless weather dictates another change.

Registration fees must be paid in full by the end of our third practice (8/2). Participants not paid in full by this deadline will be cut from the roster.

We have been given permission to resume football practice on the game field beginning with our first practice on July 30th.

Equipment fitting for football will be handled a bit differently this year. We are fairly certain that we will need to order various items such as game jerseys, girdles etc. To avoid finding out we need these things at the last minute and then not having time to order them, we will be bringing in each squad separately and fitting them earlier than normal.

Pee Wees will be fitted on June 29th from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.

Super Grasscutters will be fitted on June 30th from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
(Player last names A - K please arrive at 9:00 A.M. Player last names L - Z please arrive at 10:30 A.M.)

Grasscutters will be fitted on July 6th from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.
(Player last names A - O please arrive at 6:00 P.M. Player last names P - Z please arrive at 8:30 P.M.)

For new parents, this will all occur at our field.

This will be a fitting only. We will not be issuing the equipment. Once fitted the equipment will be bagged, tagged and stored until we issue it when practice begins. If you cannot make your fitting date, please contact either your coach or a board member to make arrangements.

We have cancelled our planned pre-season bowl tournament due to a lack of willing participants. Maybe next year...

If you need to drop-off ingredients or money for the Pancake Breakfast, or just need more tickets to sell, you can do so every Thursday from now until June 9th at the field. Someone will be there from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on 5/24, 5/31 & 6/7.

We've had questions about what the best way for parents to stay informed regarding practice cancellations and other similar last minute scheduling changes. We have several different ways to get information out to the folks that need it:
* Website - The easiest is checking our website at www.DandridgeBroncos.com it is the first place we update when a "need to know" item comes up. It also has a calendar of upcoming events covering everything from practice/game dates, times and locations, to fund raisers and meetings. Pretty much anything you need to know is available there.
* Facebook - Next, we have a fan page on facebook at www.facebook.com/DandridgeBroncos which is updated anytime a new item is added to the website. All you have to do is like the page and you will start receiving the updates.
* Email alerts - We will send out a group email occasionally when an announcement is needed. To add your email address to the list simply go to our website and click the spinning mailbox on the left side under the menu, select the groups that you wish to receive alerts on and submit. (If you put an email address on the sign-up sheet when you signed your child up, it has already been added to the list.)
* Text alerts - We do have the ability to send out a group text alert from our website; however it is a bit of a hassle to sign up for. You must click the "Game Cancelled? - Sign up for our text & email alerts" button on our website and create an account to activate text alerts. This is the fastest and easiest method available to us for getting information out to you, unfortunately only 5 people have actually signed up for it. We will probably only begin using the text alerts when 15 - 20 parents sign up for it.
* Call or E-mail us - If all else fails call or email us. All board members, directors & coaches contact info is listed on the website, and our main email address is dandridgebroncos@gmail.com.

Due to the poor condition of the field the city has asked that we not practice football on it. Therefore until they decide otherwise, we will have to practice on the "soccer" field. (the grass area to the left of our parking lot, typically used for spill-over parking)Parents are asked to watch practice from either the parking lot side of the creek, or from under the trees on the hillside near the road. We will barely have room to practice three squads on what flat ground there is. ***Cheerleaders will still be allowed to practice around the edge of the field as normal.***

The 1st annual preseason 'Between The Lakes Bowl' will be held August 10th - 12th, 2012 at our own Eddie Reneau Field. Pee Wee & Super Grasscutter teams from the surrounding area will be invited to participate in what will be a three day, single elimination tournament culminating in a BTL Bowl Champion for both age groups. We will be posting brackets and game times as soon as all teams wishing to compete are confirmed.

We will be shipping all of our helmets out next Friday (3/30) to have them re-conditioned and painted. If you have not yet turned in a helmet from last year, we need you to please contact us so we can arrange to have it turned in before we ship. Parents turning in a helmet after 3/30, will be asked to pay the $40 cost of re-conditioning and shipping a single helmet. Please feel free to contact any board member to arrange a drop off, all board member contact info is listed at left in the "Board Contact Info" section.

We've been discussing the possibility of upgrading the Pee Wee's Football uniforms for the upcoming year. The issue is that the blue jerseys purchased for all three teams last year did not hold up well at all, especially for the Pee Wee's. Between replacing damaged jerseys and the ones purchased by outgoing seniors, we are looking at buying around 20 jerseys. The thought of spending more money on jerseys that we already know do not hold up is not a pleasant one. We have found a local company that can make custom jerseys & pants that are MUCH better quality for a very reasonable price. (See pic for example) Our question to the Pee Wee parents is this: If the board buys the custom pants, would you be willing to buy a keeper custom jersey with player name on the back for approximately $45? We've set up a poll at right, please only vote once. There is also a forum thread on the subject for discussion.

The complete 2012 Football Schedule is now available in the "Schedule" & "Calendar" sections. All games for all teams listed, as well as dates and locations for 1st practice, Jamboree, playoffs and the Super Bowl. Spring practice dates have not been set yet, but we plan on making a decision on that at our March meeting.

There seems to be some confusion and/or controversy surrounding the 2012 cheer pack for the cheerleaders. So in the interest of avoiding this becoming a full scale Facebook worthy crisis the board will hold a special meeting at 12:00 P.M. this Saturday (3/3/12) to discuss it. We ask that anyone with a concern or issue regarding the cheer pack please attend this meeting.

The 2012 E.M.F.C. Waiver form is now available in the "Handouts" section. This in addition to the already available forms (Sign Up Sheet & Broncos Waiver) constitute all forms necessary to sign your child up for either football or cheerleading for the 2012 season.

Downloadable pdf versions of the 2012 Sign Up & Waiver Forms have been added to the "Handouts" section. Both forms can be printed front to back on a single sheet of paper and completed prior to attending sign ups if preferred. Blank forms will still be available on-site on each sign up day.
