The race distances shall be as follows:

Junior High distances

         Bantam                2000m

         Midget                 2000m

         Juvenile               3000m (boys and girls)

• All Juveniles will run 3000m the first race.

           Bantam under 13 as of September 1^st, 2018 and in grade 7

           Midget under 14 as of September 1, 2018 and in grade 7 or 8

           Juvenile under 17 September 1, 2018 and in grade 9

Canmore Park Location - (located in Calgary) – Start and Finish Line located by the tennis courts. Corner of 19 St NW and Chicoutimi DR NW.

Confederation Park Location – 2807 10^th Street NW – The start and finish line is located beside the parking lot of the Rosemont Community Association.

Race procedures

         Please respect the following color codes for each age category

                  Bantam                PINK/RED

                  Midget                 GREEN

                  Juvenile               BLUE

It is imperative that the following information be clearly indicated on each athlete’s label:

   Age category * Name * School        

 Course walk through will begin at 4:00.

 Please stay around for the ribbon presentation.

 Dress appropriately for all weather.

Team Banner Challenge

Points are accumulated through the X-Country Series.  Results are emailed to coaches following the races. Teams with the most points wins the championship banner.

Point values:

         1^st – 10 points                        6^th –   5 points

         2^nd –  9 points                        7^th –   4 points

         3^rd –  8 points                        8^th –   3 points

         4^th –  7 points                        9^th –   2 points

         5^th –  6 points                        10^th – 1 point

Medals and Ribbons

         Medals awarded for 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd

         Ribbons awarded for 4^th, 5^th, 6^th

 Race Day Duties

         To run a successful event in a timely fashion, we need each school to provide volunteers (coaches, staff, parents, students) to help marshal the course and help at the finish line.

Cost

At the end of the series, I will be communicating with each participating school in regards to monies owed.  The collected fees cover the park permit, medals/ribbons and any other miscellaneous costs.

         Per race:    $3.00
