WEEK 6
The Eagles win the regular season FABL Championship by going 4-2. On Monday the fine pitching of Scott and excellent defense by Chris and Joey allowed the Eagles to defeat the Dodgers 3-2. On Tuesday the Eagles 11 game winning streak came to an end. Final score 6-2. On Weds night the Eagles traveled to Elmjack to renew their rivlary with the Bayside Yankees. The usual reliable defense fell apart and the Eagles suffer their second defeat in a row by the score of 7-5. On Thursday the Eagles rebound in specular fashion and defeat Team Cardinals by the score of 17-0 to set up a first place showdown with the LI Mariners Gold on Sat. The Eagles, needing only one win to capture first place, started off slowly and the score was close (2-1) through 5 innings. In the top of the 6th inning the Eagles scored 5 runs with two outs to put the game away. Consecutive hits by Chris, John, Scott and Nick L propelled the Eagles to victory and the regular season championship. Eagles win game 2 when the LI Mariners manager forfeited the game. Eagles final record 16-4. Congradulations to all the Eagles on a second straight regular season championship (Spring 2006 and Summer 2006). It's on to the playoffs.
WEEK 5
The Eagles go 5-0 to move into first place in the FABL Open Division with a record of 12-2. The week (Monday)opened with an exciting extra inning victory over the Bayside Yankees. A clutch two out base hit in the top of the 7th inning by Ryan tied the score. Fine relief pitching by Ethan held the Yankees to one run over the final 3 innings. On Weds. the Eagles traveled to Queens to play the Midville Dodgers. Excellent hitting and fine defense were the keys to victory. On Thursday the Eagles traveled to Commack for a first place showdown with the Reds. Great pitching and hitting by John as well as stellar defense allowed the Eagles to take over first place with a convincing 8-2 win. Showing they weren't satisfied with 3 wins the Eagles end the week with a Saturday sweep of the LI Junior Ducks 11-5 and 9-2. The Eagles fine all around play produced a fantastic week of baseball. Another tough week awaits the Eagles (5-6 games)as they try to win the FABL Regular Season Championship.
Record 12-2
WEEK 4
The Eagles return from Delaware and defeat the LI Mariners Blue in a doubleheader on Sat. and the LI Braves in a single game Monday night. Once again fine pitching by Chris and Ryan powered the Eagles to victories over the Mariners by the scores of 2-0 and 6-2. Excellent hitting by ALL the Eagles provided much needed offense against the tough hitting Braves. Eagles defeated the Braves 13-11. Record 7-2
WEEK 3
The Eagles defeat both the Bayside Yankees and the LI Mariners Gold. Fine pitching by Scott and excellent relief by John keyed the 8-5 victory over the Yankees. Once again excellent defense and great pitching, this time by Ryan, powered the Eagles to a 1-0 victory over the Mariners in game two. Record 4-2
WEEK 2
Eagles defeat the LI Ducks 12-3 and lose to the LI Mariners Blue 12-10. Game one was an easy victory for the Eagles as the hitting woes appear to be over. Pitching and defense remained excellent. Game two saw the usually reliable pitching staff take a beating but the good news was the hot hitting continued. Record 2-2
WEEK 1
The Eagles open the FABL Summer Season by splitting a doubleheader with the LI Braves. Despite fine pitching by Chris and great defense the Eagles lost the opener 2-0. The bats came alive (did someone say finally?)in game two and the Eagles coasted to victory (8-2). It appears the bat burning party worked BUT only time will tell if the "demons" are really gone. Record 1-1
