All-Star Day at Ducks Stadium

July 28, 2012
Saturday July 27th was All-Star Day at Ducks Stadium and for those that spent all or part of the day there, it definitely turned into long day's journey into night......but for the most part, in a positive way. Players, parents, friends, relatives, league officials, managers, coaches and friends of the league who assisted with the day's festivities began arriving at 7:30 AM for an 8 o'clock game. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas.......RAIN {more like a monsoon, lightning and thunder!]
which led to the tarp being taken on & off numerous times by the Ducks ground crew who were simply sensational and at times with a little help from us. Finally, at 12:22, we started our first game, very well played, exciting and we played 9 innings! Now we were ready to start our second game at 4:00 which was originally scheduled to start at 12:00 and we started at 4:08. Another great game, however, Mother Nature decided it was time to pay us a visit in the 7th inning and the skies opened up and the rain came and came and came.....fortunately, we had played almost 7 complete and we stopped the 2nd game. We waited and about 7:30, Mother Nature decided to stop beating down on us and the rain stopped. We started game three and at 11:22 PM, after another exciting game almost 16 hours after we started our journey, the final out was recorded.
There were a lot of winners today...our league that had the opportunity to showcase a lot of talented ballplayers, managers & coaches who worked hard over the past two weeks with league officials to put together lineups and rosters , all of the volunteers who worked the concession stand and the front gate, all of the Duck staff and all of the friends & family of the players who sat through a difficult day and made this a wonderful day for our league.
On behalf of our President, Jimmy Rose and myself, I would like to thank everyone who was at the games Saturday and Friday night, the players, managers & coaches, the league officials who assisted the past two weeks in putting today and Friday night together and all the volunteers who helped.
THANK YOU!

Bob DePersio, SR
LISM Baseball Commissioner

DO NOT FIX FIELDS

Please be advised that at no point should individuals be maintaining fields. We have had a few problems in recent weeks. If the field is unplayable please do not play. At no point should anyone be digging out the clay on any baseball fields. This will cause us to lose our field permits. Any team that creates a problem will be out of the league with no refunds.

Thanks

Jimmy Rose

Pro Wood Players

July 7, 2012
Playoff reminder - Pro Wood players should not be playing for any other teams in any other divisions except Pro Wood. If a team is utilizing a Pro Wood player in any other division on their team, be advised that during the playoffs, the Pro Wood player will not be permitted to play for any other team except his own Pro Wood team.
There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule!

UPDATE - Minimum Number of Games

July 30, 2012
As required by League Rules, all teams must play a minimum number of regular season games. This year, the minimum number is 20 and any team with less than 20 as of July 29th will receive a loss up to a max of 20 games.

The teams in the league that finished the season with less than 20 were assigned losses after the final game results were posted on Monday. This is the reason we asked teams not to cancel games during the season.
