2005 Post 964 Champs in Eau Claire

Lake Zurich takes 1st Place at The River City Classic in Eau Claire ,Wisconsin at histroic Carson Park. Post 964 went 4-0 defeating host Eau Claire (WI),Winona (MN),Wisconsin Rapids,(WI) and then Morehead (MN) in the championship game.

2005 River City Classic Tournament MVP'S

Four Post 964 players were named to the All Tournament team at the River City Classic in Eau Claire July 8-10th. Dan Anstedt (6-15),Ryan Baranowski(4-11 1HR),Steve Stratton (7-14) and Derek Grant 4-11 pitching 1-0). Congratulations!

2005 Waukegan Tournament

Post 964 takes 1st Place in the 24th Fred Gordon Memorial at Bowen Park in Waukegan. Lake Zurich defeats Lake Forest by a score of 4-2 in 8 innings to repeat as champs of the tournament sponsored by Waukegan American Legion.

2007 Eau Claire All-Tournament Team Named

The Lake Zurich All Tournament team for the River City Classic:Kevin Callahan,Ryan Morrill,Kyle Hanna and Austin Schmeisser. Post 964 went 2-2 in this years Classic highlited by a game with the host Eau Claire which Lake Zurich battled but lost 11-10. Wins against Moorhead,Mn.and Wisconsin Rapids as well as a second loss was to Green Bay Southwest rounded the results for this years tourney.

2007 Fred Gordon Memorial Tournament Champions!

Lake Zurich Post 964 took 1st Place in the 26th Annual Fred Gordon Memorial Tournament in Waukegan. Post 964 defeated the host Waukegan 5-4 in 11 innings to capture the tournament for the second time in the last three years.

2007 Wilmette Wood Bat Tournament Results

Lake Zurich defeated Northbrook and Highland Park and lost to Rock Island and Barrington in getting a 2-2 split. This tournament was highlited by a 2-1 loss against a very powerful Rock Island team which ended up winning it's Division and advancing to the 2007 Illinois State Tournament.

2007 Former Post 964 Player Earns Freshman All-American

Northern Illinois second baseman Jordin Hood was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team as chosen by Collegiate Baseball. Jordin ranked among the team's leading hitters throughout the year and capped his rookie season by earning second-team All-MAC accolades.The first Huskie to earn Freshman All-America honors since 2003, hit .294 with six home runs, 29 RBI and 11 stolen bases while compiling a .459 slugging percentage during his initial collegiate campaign. Hood was one of four MAC players among the Freshman All-America honorees in 2007.






2008 Current Post 964 Player Commits To Penn State

Post 964 Third Baseman Joey DeBernardis will be playing for Penn State
in 2009.As a junior he hit .400 with a .484 on base percentage and a .789 slugging percentage, slugging 10 home runs and driving in 39 as the team went 24-10 and won the North Suburban Conference championship. He was named All-Conference, All-Area and All-County.DeBernardis chose the Nittany Lions over Pitt, Iowa, Michigan State and Northern Illinois."Joey is a solid defensive corner infielder and a right handed offensive threat," said Penn State Coach Robbie Wine.

2008 St.Charles is 2nd Division Winner

St.Charles captured the 2nd Division championship at played at Libertyville High School and moves on to the State tournament.

2008 Lake Zurich Wins 5th Annual Falls Classic

Ryan Morrill hit a grand slam, Steve Cleary (3 RBI) homered, and teammate Robert Brant went 2-2 in the win over Hudson. Post 964 wound up with 13 hits in the rout. ... Earlier in a 15-5 win over Chippewa Falls, Wis., LZ's Scott Stratton homered, while Austin Schmeisser and Tim Nolan each went 3-for-4. Tyler Schmitz got the win. ... In a Falls Classic opener on Friday, LZ's Dan Zummo yielded four hits and struck out six in six innings in an 8-1 win over Red Wing, Minn. Schmeisser was 3-for-4 from the lead-off slot.

2008 Coach Grant Gets 100th Win

Dan Grant Lake Zurich American Legion's manager, captured his 100th career victory when Post 964 thumped Hudson,Wisconsin at the Fifth Annual Falls Classic in July of 2008. Grant took over in 2005 as Manager getting to the 100 win plateau in less than four years at the helm.

2008 Former Post 964 Player Gets Selected in Major League Draft

Post 964 former player Joey DeBernardis was selected in the 38th round by the Florida Marlins (1,138th overall) in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft but instead accepted a scholarship to Penn State University where he is in enrolled as a freshman.

2009 Waukegan Tournament Results

Post 964 goes 3-0 in pool play beating Morton Grove,Zion and Lake Forest which advanced them to the Sunday round of play where Lake Zurich defeated 10th District foe Grayslake setting up a championship game later that day with Lake Forest. Lake Forest defeated Lake Zurich 6-5 with a run in the 7th inning to win the tournament giving Post 964 a second place finish.

2009 American Legion 10th District Winner

Barrington is the winner of the 10th District. Barrington goes on to Wheaton to represent the 10th District in the 2nd Division Tournament that plays from July 19-24th.

2009 Kyle Hanna Back Finishes Legion Career

Kyle Hanna a three player ended his American Legion career in July 2009.
