LEAGUE AND TEAM INFORMATION

St. Margaret's participates in the Wilmington CYM league, along with seven other teams from New Castle County, DE. Teams are fielded by the player's grade, not age. The JV team consists of players in grades 4 through 6, while the Varisty team consists of players in grades 7 through 8. The league does not place any weight limitation on players, but does have weight restrictions on players playing the skilled positions, such as quarterback and running back.

St. Margaret's home games are played on Caravel Academy's or Red Lion Chrsitain Academy stadium as well as other High School fields in New Castle County. Practices are also held at Caravel Academy, on their grass practice field and at times at Gunning Bedford school.

All equipment, including practice jerseys, practice pants, game jerseys (home and away) and game pants are provided by the team. Each player is responsible for the proper cleats, athletic football girdle (approx $15) and an athletic cup.

For additional information on either the team or the league, please contact Mike Klepacki at (302) 229-2285.

At St Margaret's we do NOT do any fundraising. No standing at a grocery store to collect money, or ask you to sell something to others which means more work for you. Our costs are very low compared to other leagues that do NOT give your child the experience that we can offer. We play our games on high school stadium fields, practice at a fine facility with lights, promote consistent sportsmanship, push for teamwork and fairness, which are only a few of the qualities at St Margarets.  We teach the game the RIGHT way, and that is with hard work, respect, honesty and a proven demonstration of caring for all, regardless of the scoreboard. All of our coaches are NHFS certified.  Ask other families who have played here and get their point of view. We always promote a family atmosphere on and off the field, with pizza party's, bon fires, homecoming event with an invite to former players and coaches, parents day, a traditional visit to the University of Delaware's football facilities and game which is fun for all ages.  We also have a community service day which allows the players and families to support and help others. At ALL Sunday games an ATI trainer is present, so the care and monitoring of your child's wellness is first and foremost with us, as it is not the case with most other leagues.  Again, this is only a small glimpse of what we do and offer at St Margaret's! GO WARRIORS!!!
