The Wrestler's Creed
Created by Johnny Masters (A high school wrestler)

W- When I choose to become a wrestler I realize that this is a voluntary act, fully knowing that hardwork and dedication will be required in order to attain success. I realize that wrestlers are elite athletes and I will do everything that I can to uphold this standard

R- Readily I will display the heart and stamina required to wrestle to the best of my ability each and every time I step onto the mat.

E- Energetically, I will meet my opponents, willing to do anything that I can, within the rules of the sport, in order to gain victory.

S- Seriousness will be part of my match day armor, I will always carry myself in such a way as to let people know that I am to be taken seriously and that my number one priority is to become a champion.

T- Total respect for teachers, administrators, officials and anyone else in authority will be expected of me and adhered to by me at all times.

L- Learning the sport will be one of my main goals. I know that winning is great but losing can be a learning experience.

E- Everyone that I come into contact with will know that I am a winner and I will never be satisfied with anything but my very best.

R- Responsibility to my team and myself will be of utmost priority. I will always be able to look in the mirror and honestly say, "I have not cheated you today!"
