Mission Statement

Wylie Football League a non-profit Corporation will provide children ages 5 to 15 the opportunity to play football in the Wylie community. Through registration fees and charitable contributions from the community, The Wylie Football League will provide Parents of Children and foster children who could not otherwise afford the price of entry fees, and equipment would be able to participate in these sports through scholarships and sponsorship programs.   

The Wylie Football League’s philosophy is bringing a collection of young people together in a common setting of instructing them on the basic fundamentals of the game and instilling in them thru that process a personal sense of self-worth to themselves and their selves to the common good of the team and the team's goal for the season. Equally important are the areas of physical conditioning, psychological, mental, social, emotional, responsibility and spirituality of a player as well as all-around child development. To instill these Qualities that will care through them through-out their adult life.

Socially, The Wylie Football League would encourages players to interact and establish good relationships with individuals within the environment as well as within the community. The Wylie Football League encourages players to attain a positive attitude in their own abilities, to gain respect and trust towards other team members, and have pride in representing their Team. They are taught to act as respectful to all individuals at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:    
Each parent or guardian shall have a completed registration form with payment or evidence of payment on file and a copy of the child’s birth certificate to be presented to the WFL Board prior to the child’s weigh-in.

PLEASE HAVE YOUR REGISTRATION FORM FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND READY TO GO WHEN YOU ARRIVE.
 

PROCEDURE:
Two leagues are scheduled to weigh-in at the same time. The parents shall assemble their child according to which league they will participate in. Each child who is close to the skill position weight limit may immediately strip down to shorts prior to stepping on the scale. All players will only be weighed once in accordance to the WFL rules. Two WFL Board members must verify the child’s weight. Parents are allowed to view the official weight at the weigh in. After the player is weighed and registration completed, the players and parents should leave the weigh-in area due to the number of people and the limited parking space at the center. 

ALL WEIGH –INS ARE FINAL WHEN THE CHILD STEPS ON THE SCALE AND THE WEIGHT IS READ AND RECORDED BY A BOARD MEMBER AND INITIALED BY TWO OR MORE BOARD MEMBERS!

According to WFL rules: If a tackle player's weight is not officially recorded by the end of the last day of registrations they will NOT be able to play a skilled position and run the ball (see rules for details). They will automatically be assigned a 90 series jersey number - regardless of their actual weight.
