Florida Youth Athletic Association
FLYAA advocates for and promotes self-sustaining youth athletic leagues and parks for greater participation efforts from young student athletes in organized athletic activities. FLYAA is committed to supporting continuing education programs that focus on academic achievement, health and wellness nutritional programs, drug and crime prevention, and promoting safe neighborhood parks and providing reciprocal destination travel for youths.
Florida Youth Athletic Association (FLYAA) is a non profit - 501 © 3 charitable foundation comprised of many individual youth athletic leagues whose goal is to assist in funding youth sports organizations.
FLYAA is governed by a 25 person Board, which includes a cross segment of youth officials, corporate, government and civic leaders.
Today, FLYAA represents over 42,000 youth athletes between the ages of 4- 15, including a database of 63,000 parents, coaches and volunteers throughout the state of Florida. FLYAA's goal is to reach over 100,000 youth in the next three years by including youth participation in the following organized sports: lacrosse, roller hockey, baseball, and co-ed sports such as soccer, softball, and basketball.
FLYAA is comprised of 132 parks - 9 individual sports leagues in the following counties: Pinellas, St Lucie, Hillsborough, Brevard, Duval, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade (70% of FLYAA programs are located in South Florida).
FLYAA objectives:
Increase Participation of Youth Football, Cheerleading, Flag and Additional Sports.
Ease Parks and Leagues financial challenges of operating costs.
Enhance exposure for Leagues in the State of Florida and across the country.
Reinforce a general educational experience for youth and adults.
