Paschal High School Home Page
Paschal High School opened in 1885 as Fort Worth High School. Its inception began on the heels of the passage of the Morrill Land Grant of 1878, which produced the Texas University System. The school was first located near downtown close to where the First Methodist Church is now located. After a fire in 1910, Fort Worth High School relocated south of downtown to the comer of Rosedale and Jennings Avenue. In 1923 Central moved again to Cannon Street, and in 1935 changed its name to R.L. Paschal High School, named after its dedicated and respected principal, Robert L. Paschal. It was said of Dr. Paschal that he could enter any classroom and take over instantly whatever was being taught. In 1955 Paschal moved to its present location on Forest Park Blvd., in the building where McLean Middle School was previously located. In the years since, Paschal has grown tremendously, with many additions surrounding the original building.
Today Paschal High School exists as a large, inner-city high school with a diverse population and a student body of 2276 students. This student body provides its students with a realistic sense of the world and a richer learning environment.
Congratulations to Paschal's National Merit Semi-finalists for 2007-08 and all 55 National Merit recognized students.
