2007 Russian National Baseball Team's 20th Anniversary U.S.A. Baseball Tour organized by Russian International Baseball at the request of the Russian Olympic Committee
It is Russia versus America all over again, this time at ballparks in big cities and small towns in the United States. For generations Russia was the United States’ greatest arch-rival, but a deeper relationship precedes that chapter dating back to 1807. This year marks the bicentennial of official diplomatic relations between the United States and Russia, and in 2007 events and celebrations will take place in both countries in total recognition of our shared history. During this anniversary, the great American pastime brings us all closer together once again as we celebrate this landmark event.
This summer, the senior Russian National Baseball Team, under the direction of the Russian Olympic Committee, will embark on their 2007 U.S.A. Baseball Tour, an American baseball extravaganza traveling throughout the eastern United States from July 15 to August 15 including:
• Games versus baseball teams in top-level NCAA sanctioned summer collegiate leagues
• A series versus Team USA and Team China scheduled through Major League Baseball
• Appearances at and the attendance of Major League Baseball games and stadiums
As the Russian baseball players journey throughout the United States marking this bicentenary by playing baseball in big, picturesque stadiums and small, quaint ballparks during the dog days of the American summer, the globalization of baseball continues on. Make sure not to miss a game in your area as we collect tighter bonds of our two countries through the grand old game that now even Russian little leaguers are embracing.
