Frederick Stars Girls Lacrosse Club
FSLAX – Frederick Stars Lacrosse Club is recognized as the first and the premier girls lacrosse club in Western Maryland. The FSLAX story began in June 2002 when 25 players and 3 coaches (Robin Abel, Bill Sardella & Mark Snyder) from Frederick County organized a tournament team dedicated to developing players for higher levels of competition. With dedication to each other, determination to play lacrosse the proper way and to break out of the rec league mentality, these girls and coaches were the pioneers of an elite club that has grown to over 100 players on several teams. These players represent the best players in the region from 20 different high schools, 5 different counties and 3 states! FSLAX has remained true to its origins and is dedicated to teaching the game, developing lacrosse players and preparing players for all levels of play. Since 2003, over 65 FSLAXers have pursued lacrosse at the collegiate level. FSLAX is recognized by college coaches across the country and actively recruit FSLAX players for Division I, II & III programs.
Western MD Youth Lacrosse
This is the league that the Club plays outdoor lacrosse in during the spring.
To provide the youth (boys and girls) residing within the geographical boundaries of the Western Maryland Area (including Western Carroll County, Frederick County, and Washington County) a healthful, enjoyable leisure time activity and, as part of the experience, to promote qualities that may help them in later life such as sportsmanship, team skills, positive work-ethic, and integrity.
Hood Lacrosse
Hood College is a strong supporter of the Spires Lacrosse program. We urge everyone to come out and watch their games. Both men's and women's!!!
Western MD Lacrosse Officials Association
This is where the officials come from that referee our lacrosse games.
Excellent opportunities for boys and girls exist who wish to learn more about the game and earn some cash doing it!
Becoming a referee is a very rewarding position. By learning more about the rules and the game of lacrosse, you will become a much better player.
