FROM ROUTE 51 COMING SOUTH FROM PITTSBURGH:
Stay on Rt 51 straight into town:
At the 4th traffic light (an offset 4 street "X" intersection with the old train station on your left, pizza parlor on your right, flower bed to your front), turn right onto N. Mt. Vernon Avenue;
Stay on Mt. Vernon Avenue (you cross Route 40 with the WW 1 doughboy statute on your left with the flags, and it becomes South Mt. Vernon); after the first traffic light after the doughboy you will see the YMCA sign on your right (if you go to the stop sign you went too far). Turn right and park.
FROM ROUTE 119 COMING SOUTH FROM GREENSBURG:
Take the Route South 119 By-pass;
Take the Main Street Exit (the Uniontown Mall is on your right, go left at the end of the ramp, you are going into town);
After you go under the by-pass and clear its intersections and its lights, at the second traffic light, turn right onto S. Mt. Vernon Avenue. Walgreen's (currently being built) is on your left here, a high rise apartment on your immediate right, Jendral's Drugstore is on your opposite right, the WW 1 doughboy statute and the flags are in front of you to the left. After the first traffic light you will see the YMCA sign on your right (if you go to the stop sign you went too far). Turn right and park.
FROM ROUTE 40 COMING EAST FROM WASHINGTON:
Stay on Route 40 past the Uniontown Mall (on your right). After you go under the Route 119 by-pass and clear its intersections and its lights, at the second traffic light, turn right onto S. Mt. Vernon Avenue. Walgreen's (currently being built) is on your left here, a high rise apartment on your immediate right, Jendral's Drugstore is on your opposite right, the WW 1 doughboy statute and the flags are in front of you to the left); After the first traffic light you will see the YMCA sign on your right (if you go to the stop sign you went too far). Turn right and park. |
