DIRECTIONS TO WEST SALEM HIGH SCHOOL
(1776 Titan Dr. Nw Salem, Or 97304 is the physical address, but in reality a long way from the Baseball Fields, on the other side of the school, directly off Doak’s Ferry Rd)
From South I-5 Heading NORTH take Exit # 253 (Stayton/Detroit Lake). Turn LEFT at top of ramp. You will be on Mission. Follow Mission to Liberty. Turn RIGHT onto liberty and move to the left hand lanes. Ignore signs, they will lead you astray. Continue on Liberty through town.
Turn LEFT onto Marion Street ( Heading West) and proceed up and over the bridge, getting in to the right lanes.
Merge, at bottom of the bridge, onto Wallace Rd. Slowly maneuver to the left hand lane as you will be turning Left, in about ¾ mile, on Orchard Hts. Rd. Continue along Orchard Hts. To Doaks Ferry Rd. About a mile and half or so. Turn left onto Doaks Ferry Rd. see the High School, see the Ball fields.
From North I 5, take the Salem Parkway exit, the second exit past the Volcanoes Stadium. Follow the signs to “Dallas, Ocean”. You will weave through town. Stay in the right hand lane as you turn right on Marion Street, Going over the Willamette river. Again, Stay in the Right hand lane. Take the exit to West Salem off the short bridge, heading North on Wallace Rd. Slowly maneuver to the left hand lane as you will be turning Left, in about ¾ mile, on Orchard Hts. Rd. Continue along Orchard Hts. To Doaks Ferry Rd. About a mile and half or so. Turn left onto Doaks Ferry Rd. see the High School, see the Ball fields.
From Hwy 99 or Independence, Follow Hwy 22 (aka Dallas Hwy NW), turn left onto Doak’s Ferry road. It is about ¼ mile East of the Weigh Station. Head up the curvy hill, down the hill and around. Turn Right at the ‘T’ onto Glen Creek Road (it is really the continuation of Doak’s Ferry Road, about 1/8-1/4 mile turn left onto Doak’s Ferry Road (yes it is slightly confusing) at the Stop Light, Continue past Chapman Middle School at the top of the hill. See high school, see ball fields on the left.
If by chance you miss the turn from Hwy 22 onto Doak’s Ferry Road, you have two choices. Turn around and head back to DFR (ha, good luck) or continue to the West Salem exit off of Hwy 22. Continue straight past Safeway and follow the signs to Wallace Rd. You will be turning Left onto Wallace road. Once on Wallace Rd. follow the instructions as listed above.
