"Good Job Guys" Having a good fall season with wp .500 (5-4-1).

I enjoyed coaching You Guys this season. We had a good run during the spring. We were Champs in my eyes. The summer was getting a Little Frustrating – Things Improved during the Fall Season and was fun as well.

Try and keep active during the Off-Season. Indoor batting cages would be helpful.

Pitchers: Do your push-ups" its also great for all players. It will help build up your wrists and forearms. That will help your bat speed. Next season, we will be entering 12u division and going to Ripken in Myrtle Beach. The competition will be harder. You need to ask yourself if you want to get to the next level of play - Whether it be Travel or School ball.

A lot of you have  real talent - Some of you need to work a little bit harder.

Some guys are going to have to step it up a notch in order to stay competitive.

Remember baseball is game of failure. It is going to get harder.

We will be starting winter training as a Team with professional instructors starting the week of November 16th.
Winter Training go until April and start our 2009 season at Baseball heaven.
Tryout begin in January for 2009 12u Mustangs
Thanks To Mike, Tyler and Brandon for helping us in the fall season – Danny Jr & Tom for stepping up and coaching 1st base. Thanks to Linda and Lena for organizing the end of year awards dinner.
Thanks to all the parents for the love and support of the team. I look forward to next season.

Have a Happy & Safe Holiday Season.

Coach Dan

Volunteer Opportunities

With an enrollment of just under 1000 kids, we can use all the help we can get.

There are numerous ways that any parent or member of the community can lend their support to our kids.

Here are a few ideas:

1. Manager: Responsible for an individual team. Chooses players, teaches, organizes his team's participation in league events.

2. Coach: Assists manager. Teaches kids, coaches on field.

3. Sponsor: Provides financial support for a team. A fee of $200. gets the sponsors name on the back of his team's jerseys, a sponsor sign that is displayed at all league functions, a free listing on our website sponsor page, and a beautiful plaque suitable for display in your place of business.

4. Field Committee: Assist Fields Director in cleaning and maintaining all of the fields that we use. Involves a few hours per week during the spring.

5. Envelope Stuffing Committee: A group that helps league secretary Holly Nolan to organize our mass mailings, such as registration forms and flyers. Meets approximately twice per year for a few hours. The more hands the faster the work is completed!

6. Special Events Committee: A group of parents that will help to organize, set up and serve food at our Opening Day Ceremony and our Year End Picnic and Awards Ceremony.

7. Photography Committee: Simply, to photograph league events and games and submit pictures and movies that will be displayed on our website. Can be done at your leisure throughout the season.

8. Sponsor Recruitment: Do you have access to large companies or groups of businesses that would be willing to donate to the kids if contacted? This would involve a few simple phone calls, but would be of great benefit to the kids.

If you would like to donate your time, please contact us by email Tom.Altebrando@mcya.com or Holly.Nolan@mcya.com.

You can also call the league offices at  648-7875(Tom Altebrando) for more information..

To volunteer your time to the kids in our community is a noble and rewarding effort.

At Middle Country Baseball, It's all for the kids!
