Speed Camp starts December 8, 2008 and it will run through January 30, 2009. Training will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The focus will be on Speed, Explosion, focus, form and Body Mechanics.
The Award Ceremony will be conducted this Saturday December 6, 2008 at 12:00 pm in the Miami Lakes Optimist Park.

The winning City's Mayor will take home the winning Cup and the losing team's mayor will wear the other team's jersey to City Hall for 1 day!!!

The Orange Bowl selected the Miami Lakes Optimist Club Football & Cheerleading Program as the Park of the Week on August 16, 2008. "The spectators had a blast!"
THE MIAMI DOLPHINS FOOTBALL CLINIC
The Miami Lakes Optimist Football Program participated in The Miami Dolphins Football Clinic that was hosted by Twan Russell a former line backer for the University of Miami and The Miami Dolphins. It took place at The Miami Dolphins practice field in Davie, Fl. The Miami Dolphin’s Rookies demonstrated and taught the different football strategies to the children. They also emphasized on how important school is when it comes to anything in life.
Miami Lakes Optimist Football Program invited their players and parents to this event..
We had a great turn out, over 80 kids from our Football program participated in the clinic and they had the time of their lives. Miami Lakes had 80 out of the 250 kids that participated in the clinic. This is by far the largest Optimist turnout of any club.
“I was very happy with our turnout for this event. We are thankful to the Miami Dolphins for this opportunity to be a part of this clinic for our kids. All the kids, parents, coaches from Miami Lakes Optimist Football program had a great time; we look forward to a big turnout for next year.

ERNESTO AGUILA OUR FOOTBALL COMMISSIONER WAS ELECTED TO BE THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE MIAMI LAKES OPTIMIST CLUB!!!
SONIA AGUILA OUR CHEERLEADING DIRECTOR WAS ELECTED TO BE ONE OF THE BOARD MEMBERS OF THE MIAMI LAKES OPTIMIST CLUB!!!
BOTH WILL ASSUME THEIR POSITIONS IN OCTOBER 2008!!!

ON AN OTHER NOTE, WE HAVE JUST CONCLUDED OUR OPEN REGISTRATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON AND THE RESULTS WERE OVERWHELMING. WE WERE ABLE TO FIELD ALL EIGHT DIVISIONS. WE ARE ONLY ONE OF A HAND FULL OF 24 PROGRAMS IN THE XTREME LEAGUE THAT WERE ABLE TO ACHIEVE THIS.
