Coaches' Responsibilities
Coaches are entrusted with the important responsibility of providing an enjoyable, healthful youth sports experience. Coaches are role models and are held accountable to a code of behavior that keeps youth sports in proper perspective. To assist with this vital undertaking, the Anne Arundel County Department of Parks and Recreation provides a coaches clinic. The clinic covers topics such as coaching philosophy, sports psychology, legal matters, first aid, health and much more. There is no cost for this clinic.
All coaches (head and assistants) are required to attend a Coaches Certification Clinic and obtain the certification. A coach’s certification is valid for three years, at which time the coach must be re-certified. If you are unsure if you need to re-certify, please check the AA County file of Certified Coaches or contact Edgar Mercado. If you are interested in coaching or need to re-certify, here is the information for the next Clinic:
