Mini Olympians:
The Mini Olympians is a program geared for swimmers 5 years of age who are comfortable swimming 25m, are able to float and blow bubbles. The emphasis is on swimming basics in the water; kicking, gliding, breathing. All competitive strokes and skills are offered and taught but in a way that younger swimmers will understand. Practice times are 45 minutes in length: 15 minutes dry and30 minutes in the pool.
Junior Olympians: Junior Olympians is an opportunity for young swimmers to learn swimming skills! Children between 6-7 years who are comfortable swimming 25m and can float on front and back and swim 25m. Emphasis is on the competitive swimming skills, dive, turns, fly, back, breast and free strokes. Each child receives a p rogress card and once each level is acheived (I, II and III) a sticker will be given out. Should children enjoy this they can join the Olympic Way program to participate further in competitive swimming.
Olympic Way:
The Olympic Way program is designated to introduce competitive swimming to youngsters ages 6-10. New participants should have progressed to at least AquaQuest Level 5 (or equivalent) or have the ability to swim approximately 25 meters. Emphasis is on acquiring skills in the four competitive strokes - butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle - with opportunities for competition at novice meets. Each child progresses through the program of stroke instruction, correction, and evaluation at his/her own rate. The workout schedule permits participants to continue with other community, school, and home activities.
This program is intended for swimmers 11-17yrs. who wish to further their technical skills and keep/get fit and have fun. Whether you are a summer swimmer, high school swimmer, triathlete, open water swimmer or a person who wants to prepare for life saving classes this program could work for you. Competitions are offered depending upon commitment. Ability to swim 100m(4 lengths) is required.
