    Coaching Philosophy

There are two coaches in the world whom I respect most and whose coaching philosophy I share.

First one is late Valery Lobanovsky, former coach of Dinamo Kiev, USSR and Ukrainian National teams.
Recruiting players mostly from USSR second and third division teams, Lobanovsky managed 16 top three finishes in USSR league in 18 years(including 8 league titles). He also won 6 USSR and 3 European Cups and guided USSR Olympic team to bronze medals at 1976 Olympic Games and USSR National team to silver medals at Euro 88. After Ukraine became independent country, Lobanovsky won 4 Ukrainian titles and 3 cups in 5 years.

Another one is Jose Mourihno, young and ambitious former coach of Porto FC and current coach of Chelsea FC.
In two years with Porto he won 2 Portuguese league titles, 1 Portuguese Cup, 1 UEFA Cup as well as most prestigious club competition in the world- the Champions League. In 2004 he moved to England and won English title and League Cup with Chelsea in his first season.

Below you can find things that they had say about beautiful game of soccer. You may would agree or disagree with them, but their coaching record speaks out laud for them.

"Success = team work + motivation + ambition + team spirit." Mourinho

"The biggest quality of the team is to play as a team. Team spirit comes ahead of superstar players. High quality players are not always necessary for a high quality result". Mourihno

"It's not necessary that a talented player will became a good player. If you have talented players, you have to work hard to make them a good players, because good a player is made of 1% talent and 99% hard work". Lobanovsky

"The words in my footballing vocabulary are: do your best, work with quality, commitment, enthusiasm and respect" Mourinho

"The modern game is demanding that the entire team is defending and the entire team is attacking. There are only two positions on the field: a goalkeeper and a field player. As a result, a field player must be a universal player and has to be able to defend his(her) own goal, be involved in the build up of attack, and, if necessary, to finish the team's attacking effort." Lobanovsky

"Everybody supports the forwards and everyone shares the defensive duties. That is the only way to play football." Mourihno

"Individual skills are not just an ability to pick up a ball and go around an entire team. It is also an ability to make a right decision under pressure. Because dribbling the ball slows down an attack, a decision when to dribble and when to pass should be made quickly." Lobanovsky

"Sometimes the winning style is to play very good quality attacking football. Sometimes it is to control the opponent. But it is always to play with the weaknesses of the opponent and don't give them what they want". Mourinho

"The modern game dictates that there is an attacking group and a defensive group. At every given moment of the game an attacking or defensive group should consist of 7-8 field players." Lobanovsky

"Defence is not just an ability to win a ball. It is also an ability to move the ball forward quickly and to start your team's attack." Lobanovsky

"Playing only one's own position helps the opposition. Players should be able to change position and, as needed, to play in defense, offense, or midfield, creating chaos in the opposition formation." Lobanovsky

"Even when the team is very good, even when you win, you have to change. You have to create new motivations and give the players new challenges." Mourihno

"In football, you cannot sleep on what you did. You have to look at what you are going to do." Mourihno
