Intramurals
Beginning in September and again in April, the Bay Shore Middle School is the site of competition among the in-house (intramural) soccer teams. These teams are comprised of players ranging from ages 3 1/2 to 12. Coed divisions are established for the 3 1/2 through 7 year old teams and then are separated into girls and boys divisions. The 4 and 5 year old teams are provided the opportunity for maximum touches of the ball by playing 3 against 3 or 4 against 4 without goalkeepers. The addition of a goalkeeper occurs in the six year old division.
The basic philosophy of the Bay Shore Soccer Club is to ensure that our players have fun and enjoy the game of soccer. We encourage our parent coaches to promote the social, psychological and physical development of each child. Referees consist of our own travel players who have participated in our referee's course.
The Bay Shore Soccer Club promotes the concept of sportsmanship by offering a sportsmanship award to a team within each refereed division which is patterned after the Long Island Junior Soccer League Sportsmanship Award offered to travel teams.
