    WEEK 2 RESULTS
    September 26, 2005  --   Mike S 48, Saber 46
Saber's team was seeking its first win but Mike S's squad pulled out this two-point victory behind some balanced scoring across the board, with six players scoring 8 or more points. They were led by Joey Jonna's 10 and Mike Sarafa's 9. Brian Najor scored 14 to lead Saber's team.

    Sheena 59, Haithem 57
This one came down to the wire with Chris Abbo blowing a golden opportunity to tie the game, missing a lay-up with 3 seconds left to give Sheena's team the victory. Chris Zeer led Sheena's team with 17 points, while Ghanim Kizy put up 21 for H. Sheena improves to 2-0 while H falls to 1-1.

    Omar 50, Tom K 37
This one was ugly and low-scoring throughout, until Nick Ammori turned on the burners and took the game over, scoring 12 of his 18 points in the second half, mostly late in the game, to help Omar's team improve to 1-1. Nick Loussia and Safaa Kasawa also contributed 10 points apiece, while Ray Lousia led Tommy K's team with 11.

    Player of the Week
Nick Ammori was too much to handle for Tommy K's team, as he led Omar's team to a big victory.

    Unsung Hero
Steve Sagmani scored 12 points for Sheena's team, including some big free throw's down the stretch to secure the two-point win.

    WEEK 3 RESULTS
    October 13, 2005  --   Tom K 49, Sheena 44
Tom K's team was led by Ray Shamoun with 19 and Ray Lousia with 15. Jimmy Roumayah led Sheena's team with 15.

    Omar 64, Mike S 60
Omar's team was led by 17 from Bash Taki and Ziad Sitto led Mike S's team with 19.

    Saber 58, Haithem 40
Karl Dallou hit eight 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead all scorers.

    WEEK 4 RESULTS
    October 13, 2005  --   Mike S 64, Haithem 55
Excellent balance helped Mike Sarafa's team get their second win of the season. Neil Ammori and Joey Jonna led all scorers with 16 points apiece. Ray Toma led H's team with 14.

    Tom K 67, Saber 57
With Saber showing up late in the game pacing the sidelines in a Phil Jackson-like Versace suit, yelling out his trademark "Come on guys!", his team was unable to overcome Tom K's balanced attack. Joe Garmo led the way for Tom with 21, and Nash Zaitouna added 16. Karl Dallou was hot with 27, but that was about it for Saber's team, who has one win this year. Tom K is now 3-1.

    Sheena 55, Omar 36
Sheena's team rolled in this one, coasting after a 19-point halftime lead, led by Jimmy Roumayah's 27 points. Sheena's team is now 3-1 and Omar falls to 2-2.

    Player of the Week
    Jimmy Roumayah's 27 points helped Sheena's team maintain a first-place tie.

    Unsung Hero
Joe Garmo played an excellent all-around game for Tom K's team, including 22 points and three 3-pointers.

    WEEK 5 RESULTS
    October 17, 2005  --   Omar 55, Saber 49
This loss, Saber's fourth, prompted him to trade Brian Najor to Tommy K's team for Ray Shamoun. Omar's team was led by the veteran, Safaa "Big Dog" Kasawa with 20 points and Nick Loussia added 17.

    Mike S 50, Sheena 42
Mike Sarafa's team handed Sheena his second straight loss in this one. Joey Jonna had 14 to lead Mike's team while Jimmy Roumayah tallied 18 in a losing cause.

    Haithem 63, Tom K 53
Haithem's team had the hot hand all game long, led by Steve Mansour's 15 points. The rest of his team had a balanced attack that Tommy K's team couldn't handle. Ray Lousia had 18 for Tom's team.

    Player of the Week
Safaa "Big Dog" Kasawa was playing like his old self, scoring 20 points for Omar's team to lead them to victory.

    Unsung Hero
Marvin Acho scored 10 points off the bench for H's team and grabbed a ton of boards to help them get the win over Tommy K.

    WEEK 6 RESULTS
    October 24, 2005  --   Saber 52, Sheena 50
    Omar 52, Haithem 47
    Mike S 60, Tom K 54 (OT)

    WEEK 10 RESULTS
    November 29, 2005  --   Sheena 54, Mike S 41
Mike Sarafa's team laid down in this one to get Sheena a playoff spot, and ironically they'll be playing each other in the first playoff game this week.

    Tom K 51, Haithem 49
This game had playoff intensity and for good reason, the winner was guaranteed a spot in the big dance while the loser went home. It went down to the wire, as Ray Lousia helped Tommy K's team charge back, scoring 20 of his 23 points in the second half. Brian Najor's rebound put-back 3-point play with 5 seconds left was the deciding factor in the game.

    Omar 2, Saber ZERO
Another forfeit. Once again, Saber really needs to be relieved of his duties, a very embarrassing season for him.

    WEEK 2 RESULTS
    January 30, 2006  --   Sheena 50, Omar 39
Ray Lousia joined his team a few minutes into the game, but took over when he arrived and led his team to victory behind 17 points. Saber Ammori was the unsung hero, doing some dirty work in the paint good for 9 points. Sheena improves to 2-0 while Omar falls to 0-2.

    Haithem 43, Neil 40 (OT)
This overtime contest found Haithem's team squeaking out the victory thanks to a balanced attack with Al Kattola and Karl Dallou each scoring 11, and Marvin Acho adding a very important 10.

    Tom K 53, Greedy 49 (OT)
Tommy K hit a big 3-pointer in overtime to help his team to this victory over Greedy's team - minus Joey Jonna. Steve Sagmani led Tom's team in scoring with 16, then was traded after the game to Mike Sarafa's team for Mike Jonna. Mike Zeer led Greedy's team with 18. Both teams are now 1-1.

    Mike S 47, The Daddy 45
Mike Sarafa's team improved to 2-0 behind Mike Jonna's 16 points - then Jonna was traded after the game for Steve Sagmani. Nick Loussia scored 20 points for The Daddy's team, which falls to 1-1.

    WEEK 3 RESULTS
    February 6, 2006  --
    Haithem 55, Omar 39
Haithem's team rolled behind 20 from Karl Dallou and Al Kattola's 19.

    Sheena 49, Neil A. 40
Sheena's team stayed undefeated behind 19 points from Ray Lousia. Neil remains winless.

    Greedy 55, The Daddy 45
Greedy's team took the victory over Daddy led by 17 from Joey Jonna.

    Mike S 45, Tom K 32
John Roumayah led Mike's team with 17 points and kept them undefeated.

    WEEK 4 RESULTS
    February 13, 2006  --   The Daddy, Neil A.

    Omar 54, Tom K 42
Omar's trade for Joe Abro paid off in a big way as he led his team with 26 points en route to victory.

    Greedy 58, Sheena 46
Greedy's balanced attack helped them to another victory, this time over Sheena's red hot team.

    Mike S 57, Haithem 52
Mike's team remained undefeated with this victory over H's squad.

    WEEK 5 RESULTS
    February 20, 2006  --   Mike S 51, Greedy 43
Mike Sarafa's team, led by rookies John Roumayah and Ernest Yeldo, are now 5-0 after defeating Greedy thanks to 16 and 13 from Roumayah and Yeldo. They also held Joey Jonna to nine points.

    Omar 49, Neil A. 37
Big Dog's 16-point performance was pivotal in Omar's squad's second straight victory. Joe Abro also added 14 points.

    Sheena 56, Haithem 49
Ray Lousia had the touch going for this one, throwing in 24 points. Not to be overshadowed was Donny Pota's 17. Karl Dallou had 25 in a losing effort.

    Tom K 58, The Daddy 43
Tommy K's team of youngsters came out blazing, led by rookie Mike Jonna's 17 points.

    WEEK 6 RESULTS
    February 27, 2006  --
    Sheena 54, Omar 47
Donny Pota scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half, fueling Sheena's team to its fifth victory of the season and a nearly airtight hold on the top spot in the Marakka Division. Omar drops to 2-4.

    Haithem 60, Neil A. 48
Neil Ammori's rookie coaching debut has been more of a debacle, as his team is winless through six games. Al Kattola led H's team to victory with 24 points and one assist. H's team is in second place in the Marakka division with a good shot at a playoff berth.

    Greedy 57, Tom K 49
This was an all-important division game for both teams, and Greedy's team pulled out the victory with big plays and free throws down the stretch by unsung hero Chris Abbo, who had 13 points. Mike Zeer and Joey Jonna had 16 apiece. Tommy K's team was led by 18 from Mike Jonna.

    The Daddy 53, Mike S 33
The Daddy's team recovered from a few disappointing outings and delivered on a big win over the previously undefeated Mike Sarafa team. Joe Garmo led all scorers with 15 points.

    WEEK 7 RESULTS
    March 6, 2006  --   Greedy 50, Haithem 44
Greedy's team was not led by Joey Jonna as you might imagine. It was a recent hero for Greedy's team, Chris Abbo, who had 13 points last week and 14 to lead his team to victory this week. Karl Dallou led H's team with 16 points. Oh yea, and Marvin Acho showed up for H's team.

The Daddy 50, Omar 42 (ot)
Joe Garmo's 19 point effort led The Daddy's team to its second straight victory, further ensuring their place in the playoff race. Omar's team has Neil's winless record to thank for its near certain playoff spot.

    Mike S 43, Sheena 41
Mike Sarafa's team pulled out the victory in this one as Ray Lousia missed a last-second three-pointer that would have given them the win. Ernest Yeldo led the way with 18 points. Lousia led Sheena's team with 17. Oh yea, and Saber played too.

    Tom K 70, Neil 33
This was not much of a contest as Neil's winless squad looked like a team destined to play in the old man's league on Wednesday nights at Shenandoah. Much of the problem was the fact that Neil's team had three Ammori's on the floor - not usually a good sign. Mike Jonna led Tommy K with 24 points including six 3-pointers.

WEEK 10: Tommy K's team tops The Daddy to earn playoff berth
    March 27, 2006  --   Tom K 51, The Daddy 47
The playoffs hung in the balance for this game, and it was the only meaningful game of the evening. Winner is in, loser is out. And Tommy K's team prevailed thanks to a huge 3-pointer by Marvin Petrous to put them ahead by two with 25 seconds remaining. Mike Jonna led Tommy K's team with 17 points and Petrous added 14. Brian Najor and Joe Garmo had 17 apiece for the Daddy's team, which lost two straight to finish the season and eliminate them from the playoffs.

    Winter 2005 CBA Championship Game
    April 7, 2005  --   Haithem 47, Tom K 37
Joey Jonna was on fire in this championship game, scoring 31 of the team's 47 points to lead Haithem to victory. Jonna drilled seven 3-pointers and was 7-8 from the line. Tony Attisha led Tommy K's team with 16 points.

Haithem's team claims the Fall 2005 CBA Title.

    WEEK 9 RESULTS
    November 21, 2005  --   Mike S 63, Haithem 50
Joey Jonna's 22 points were too much for H's team to handle. Mike Sarafa's team has first place locked up, while H needs a victory over Tommy K to make the playoffs.

    Omar 60, Sheena 35
Sheena's team was looking very ugly here, putting up only 35 points in a loss that could cost them a playoff berth. They need to beat Mike Sarafa's team to earn a spot, while Omar's team must be Saber to earn a spot.

    Tom K 2, Saber 0
Saber's team forfeited this game. Saber should be fired from his coaching position.

CBA Championship Game - Fall 2005
December 12, 2005  --   Five for Five. That's what Joey Jonna's Chaldean Basketball Association career sums up to. For the fifth time in his five seasons in the CBA, Jonna led his team to a CBA championship, the same way he did the previous four seasons - with leadership and mistake-free basketball.

Jonna played on the squad captained by Mike Sarafa, which defeated Tom Kyriakoza's team 62-56 on Monday, December 12 at Shenandoah Country Club to claim the Fall 2005 CBA league title.

Sarafa's team dominated the first half, as they delivered on numerous fast breaks and three-point attempts to take a 35-24 halftime lead. Ziad Sitto had the hot hand early for Sarafa's team, scoring 10 points including a pair of bombs from beyond the arc.

Kyriakoza's team struggled to keep up in the first half, with most of their production coming from the dynamic Ray Lousia, who scored 10 first-half points.

In the second half, Kyriakoza's team made a game of it, cutting the lead to four with under two minutes remaining. But a costly turnover gave Sarafa's squad the ball back. Kyriakoza's team was forced to begin fouling the opponent to send them to the line, but Sarafa's crew was able to deliver on most of their free throw attempts to close out the victory and claim the title.

Sitto led Sarafa's team with 17 points, followed by Jonna with 14, and Joe Abro and Luke Samona with eight apiece.

Lousia scored 21 to pace Kyriakoza's squad, while Nash Zaitouna added 16, Joe Garmo dropped in eight points and Brian Najor tallied seven.

Sarafa finished the season with a league-best 9-3 mark, while Kyriakoza closed out with a 7-5 record.

For Jonna, it capped what has been an incredible 2005, in which he captured two CBA championships and a Chaldean Football League title.

The CBA Winter 2006 campaign begins in mid-January.

WEEK 8: Tom K on five-game hot streak; Omar wins with return of Tarik
    March 17, 2005  --   Omar 48, Sheena 46 (OT)
Lots of missed free throws down the stretch helped Omar's team creep back in and take the victory in overtime. Tarik was back, and put up 18 points.

    Mike S 67, Joe K 47
Joe K's team got blown out of the building early as Safaa Qasawa and Jimmy Roumayah lit up the scoreboard. Joe K's team is mathematically eliminated from the playoff race, and Mike's team got one step closer to securing a spot.

    Tom K 57, Haithem 49
Tommy K's team has been rolling along since its trade for Karl Dallou and the acquisition of Mike Zeer, winning five straight and beating H's team to move into a first place tie. H's team shot 13-33 from the free throw line, which obviously didn't help their cause. Both teams are now 6-2.

    Players of the Week
Tommy K's foursome of Steve Sagmani, Tony Attisha, Karl Dallou and Mike Zeer all deserve honors with their balanced scoring attack.

    Unsung Hero
Safaa "Big Dog" Qasawa had a stellar game for Mike Sarafa with 20 points in a blowout victory.

WEEK 7: Haithem and Tom K separate from the pack
    March 4, 2005  --   Haithem 52, Omar 41
Al Kattola continued his torrid shooting and H's team continues to roll as a result, winning their sixth out of seven. Omar's team was without Tarik Kama yet again, and struggled to put points on the board. They fall to 3-4.

    Tom K 61, Mike S 54
Tom K's looking like the GM of the year as his team wins again after trading away his No. 1 pick. The highlight of the game was Mike Sarafa's ejection after a launching a tirade at the referees. Tom moves into second place at 5-2, while Mike falls to 3-4 and is 0-2 since trading Chris Zeer.

    Sheena 57, Joe K 41
After a closely matched first half, Sheena's team pulled away in the second half with fast break after fast break to claim their third win of the season. Nick Ammori led the way with 24 points. Joe's team falls to 1-6 with the playoffs all but out of reach.

    Player of the Week
Sheena's new acquisition Nick Ammori scored 24 points to help his team to victory and put them in the thick of the playoff hunt.

    Unsung Hero
Steve Sagmani has been an unsung hero for Tom K's team all season, and he's finally getting recognized after his 18-point effort.

WEEK 6: First beats worst and the middle gets more jammed up
    March 3, 2005  --   Sheena 44, Mike S 33
Both teams made trades prior to this game that will clearly affect the rest of their season. For Sheena it turned up on the positive end right away, even without Nick Ammori and Chris Zeer, for whom he traded Karl Dallou and Luke Samona. This game was ugly throughout, with bad shooting and lots of fouls, a Mike Sarafa specialty. Sheena stays in the hunt with his second win.

    Haithem 59, Joe K 55
Thanks to the hot shooting of Al Kattola and Joey Jonna, H's team rolled on to their fourth straight win despite Anthony Hesano's 28 points for Joe K's team. Al and Joey combined for 46 of H's team's 59 points.

    Tom K 54, Omar 48
Despite having a winning record, Tom K decided to overhaul his team, bringing in Karl Dallou and Saber Ammori ... it paid dividends immediately, as Karl scored 19 to lead them to this victory over Omar. For Omar, he was without Tarik Kama for the fourth time this season. His record with Tarik: 0-2, without Tarik: 3-1.

    Player of the Week
Al Kattola's 27 points were too much for Joe K's team to handle. He had the hot hand and shot a high percentage from the floor.

    Unsung Hero
Brian Najor battled hard to a quiet 19 points to lead Sheena's team to its second win of the season.

WEEK 5: H's team rises to top of pack; Joe K gets first win
    February 24, 2005  --   Haithem 57, Mike S 52
A big second half helped H's team pull away in this one, making his team 4-1 and alone in first place. Mike's team got 23 from Jimmy Roumayah, but Joey Jonna and Al Kattola hit the big shots for H's team. Mike wants to let his team know that he's looking for more shots.

    Tom K 53, Sheena 43
While Sheena's team only has one victory, they've easily given away three games in the final minutes, including this one, which they led by 8 with four minutes left but lost by 10. Tom K's squad's balanced scoring attack - 4 players in double figures - helped them to the victory. One last chance for Sheena to make another deal.

    Joe K 56, Omar 42
A stifling second-half defensive effort gave Joe K's team its first win of the season. They held Omar's high-powered squad to 13 second-half points and no player scored over double digits. Anthony Hesano made his CBA debut with 20 points. Omar's team has lost two straight, and Joe K's team is tied for last with Sheena.

WEEK 4: Kattola's free throws seal win for H's team; Joe K still winless
    February 13, 2005  --   Tom K 64, Joe K 40
The beating continues to Joe K's team, as he continues the winless streak of four with this blowout loss to Tommy K. This one got ugly with lots of hard fouls and a technical on Joe K. Frustration's beginning to set in, while Tom improves to 2-2 and right in the thick of things.

    Mike S 54, Omar 39
Mike Sarafa's team put an end to Omar's 15-game winning streak by defeating them despite having Tarik Kama back in uniform for the first time this season. Bad shooting afflicted Omar's team, while Mike's squad hit all the big shots.

    Haithem 58, Sheena 57
Al Kattola's free throws with no time remaining gave H's team the victory, despite Karl Dallou's 21 points. Sheena falls to 1-3 while H improves to 3-1.

WEEK 3: Joe K falls to 0-3; for Omar, no Tarik, no problem
    February 8, 2005  --   Omar 54, Sheena 42
Yet another game without Tarik Kama did not stop Omar's team from rolling up another victory, thanks to 21 from Joe Abro. Sheena, looking to make a trade, had a balanced scoring attack that wasn't enough. Let the dealing begin!

    Haithem 61, Tom K 50
Great balance helped H's team run away with the victory. Hey had four players in double figures and even H hit a three.

    Mike S 67, Joe K 55
Another game without Ray Loussia was a crushing blow to Joe K's team, which is now 0-3. Despite Bash Taki ringing up 8 three-pointers and 29 points, Mike Sarafa's team came away with the win using five scorers in double figures. Joe K's team needs to be saved from another playoff-less season.

WEEK 2: Omar's win streak improves to 14
    February 2, 2005  --   Tom K 62, Mike S 45
Tony Attisha made a statement for Tommy K's team, putting up 23 points to push their team to a convincing win over Mike S. After the game, Mike was overheard telling his team that he needs to shoot more.

    Sheena 42, Joe K 35
In a display of horrific shooting by both teams, and a number of physical confrontations, Sheena's team came out on top. Joe K fouled out and pretty much called the refs every name in the book.

    Omar 52, Haithem 40
Omar's team improved to 2-0 after handling 's team behind 21 from Joe Abro. The win improves Omar's coaching record over the last two seasons to an incredible 14-0. Now the question is, should Tarik even show up for a game this season?

WEEK 1: H's team wins big, and Mike S. and Omar squeak out wins
    January 27, 2005  --   Haithem 69, Joe K 45
Haithem's team blew things open in the second half with some sharp shooting by Joey Jonna and Al Kattola. This team looks tough, even without Steve Mansor there. Even Maher Sarafa was hitting his shots in this one.

    Omar 36, Tom K 32
In what you wouldn't consider an offensive explosion, Omar's team scored two more baskets than Tommy K's team to get this victory. The DADDY was the man in this game, scoring ten first half points.

    Mike S 49, Sheena 48
This one came down to the wire, as Sheena's team had a chance to win it but Karl Dallou missed his free throws and Sarafa went on to win by a point. The re-debut of Saber Ammori was the highlight of the evening, as he went 2-14 from the field and looked like the second coming of Bill Wennington.

    Week 1 RESULTS
    September 19, 2005  --   Haithem 61, Omar 53
Rookie Nick Loussia scored 20 points in his CBA debut, but Omar's team fell short against Haithem. H's team was led by the three-headed monster of Ghanim Kizy (20), Steve Mansor (14), and Al Kattola (13). Big Dog turned in a solid performance for Omar's team with 17.

    Tom K 61, Mike S 57
Mike Sarafa's team battled to the end, despite trailing by as many as 14 points in the second half, but Tom K's team pulled it out in the end. Joey Jonna led all scorers with 19 in a losing cause, while Tommy K's team had a strong balanced attack with all five starters scoring 8 or more points.

    Sheena 50, Saber 32
Saber's venture back into the coaching ranks started off quite rocky as Sheena's team throttled his by 18 points. Was it rust? Saber's team looks great on paper, but as they say - that's why they play the games. Jimmy Roumayah had 22 points for Sheena's team to lead all scorers, while Brian Najor led Saber's team with 10.

    Player of the Week
Jimmy Roumayah was solid from the field, hitting 11 two-point shots to get to his 22 points and lead Sheena to victory.

    Unsung Hero
Ray Shamoun was solid for Tommy K's team, finding great position in the paint all night and scoring 12 points.

    WEEK 1 RESULTS
    January 23, 2006  --   Greedy 61, Neil A. 45
Joey Jonna and Ziad Sitto simply picked up where they left off in December after winning the Fall title. The pair scored a combined 45 points as Greedy got the best of the battle of rookie coaches.

    The Daddy 49, Haithem 34
The Daddy's debut as a CBA head coach was a memorable one, as his team walloped Haithem's squad by 15. The Daddy re-instituted the "four corners" offense which led to Nick Loussia's 19 points and the convincing victory. H's team took one on the chin as they searched for answers on offense.

    Sheena 42, Tom K 30
This was a brutal game that showed plenty of signs of post-holiday rust, as neither team could score more than 14 points in the first half. But Sheena's team pulled away behind 25 from Ray Lousia. Tommy K's rookies need to make some shots for his team to compete.

    Mike S 60, Omar 54
Mike Sarafa has fielded a team of essentially 4 rookies, but in the first half of their game against Omar's mostly veteran squad, it was hard to decipher which team was the less experienced. Sarafa's team got out to an 11 point lead and held off a strong comeback by Omar's team behind Bash Taki's 3-point shooting. Rookie Mike Jonna led all scorers with 18 and Chris Jonna had a surprising 13, scoring on a wide array of moves. Steve Mansor led Omar's team with 16.
