2009 Chili Lions Cheerleading Important Information

PRACTICES AND GAMES:

Practice will start on August 3, 2009 at Davis Park.  We will practice Monday-Thursday from 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM for the month of August.  Once school starts we will practice Tuesday & Thursday from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:30 am to Noon at the Total Sports Experience (TSE) on Elmgrove Rd in Gates.  Games will be held on Sunday (times TBA pending scheduling) All dates and times are subject to change.  Mitey Mite Cheer only will reduce their practice times by a half hour due to their age-your coach will advise you when this will be taking place.

Our home field is Merante Field-Memorial Park located behind the Senior Center at 3235 Chili Ave, across from Chili Paul Plaza.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

Cheerleaders will be required to purchase aerobic sneakers, full black body suit (Body Wrappers brand) and lollies. These items can be purchased at a reduced price. More information will be forthcoming in a special mailing in May or June.  Socks and hair bow will be provided by the Lions and are yours to keep after the season.

RULES:

Pop Warner rules prohibit the wearing of jewelry/earrings (of any kind), glitter, tattoos, nail polish and nails over a certain length and no artificial nails.  Please be aware of these rules.  You will be provided a list of rules in your parent manual once the season begins.

Your cheer squad's Team Mom will be collecting by September 1^st a $10.00 donation per cheerleader to cover the cost of flowers for their coaches for the Western New York Tournament and also for the end of the year gifts for them as well.

COMPETITION DATES:

Lion' cheerleaders have been very successful in prior years when it comes to competitions.  We will have a WNY level competition held in October. Should we be successful there, you should anticipate travel in October, November and possibly December for all levels except the Mitey Mites.  (They will participate at the WNY level, only to prepare them for the next level.)  We will be doing extra fundraising for travel to help defray the girls travel cost, so please keep that in mind.  Also, anytime our football teams travel for post season games, our cheer teams will accompany them.

WNY County Cheer Tournament at RIT Gordon Field House, TBA
Eastern Qualifier in Albany, NY, October 17th
Eastern Regional in Trenton, NJ, November 21st & 22nd
