12 year old Players
Little League International has revised their
rules for players effective age. For the 2006 season only this will effect
players with the effective age of 12. Please note that this rule change
has not come from Clarksville Little League but from Little League
International. Below is a summary of how your 12 year olds will be placed
in a division for the 2006 season.
Players with the effective age of 12, that is
birthdays in the range of Jan 1, 1993 - Dec 31, 1993 will be placed into the
Junior Division
Those players will sign up and try out in the
Junior Division
The Junior Division coaches will draft their
teams from the pool of 12, 13, 14 and some 15 year old players.
At the conclusion of the Junior Division
drafts, those 12 year old players that were not chosen to be on a
team will automatically fall back into the Major Division.
The Major Division will consist of 11 year
olds and those 12 year olds that were chosen to play in the Junior Division.
15 year old Players
Players with an effective age of 15 can play in
the Junior Division under the following conditions:
If the player is in the 8th grade, she will
be allowed to play in the Junior Division but will not be allowed to pitch.
If the player is in the 9th grade, she will
be permitted to play only if she is not playing a her school team. She
will also not be allowed to pitch.
