WHAT IS CLUB VOLLEYBALL?
Club Rebel Volleyball is associated with the Great Lakes Region Volleyball Association of USA Volleyball. USA Volleyball is the national governing body for volleyball in the United States. USA Volleyball supports the United States National Teams and the Junior Olympics for both girls and boys.
Tournaments are arranged regionally, but teams can travel outside their region to play in tournaments. Often is the case when a team travels to a National Qualifier for the Junior Olympics.
Competition level is very high in club volleyball. There are two classes for junior girls. These classes are open class and club class. To put this in perspective, the club class is like having a team of all-stars. The open class is like having a team of the best players from the club class.
Most schools use club volleyball to scout prospective players. To get the most recognition possible, players wishing to play competitive volleyball in high school need to be in club.
Club is an excellent opportunity for your daughter to grow as a volleyball player and play with a variety of athletes from around the area. It is also a financial and time commitment because of the length of season and that practices and tournaments are held on weekends. BOTH parents and athletes need to understand this commitment.
