About the Boosters
The EHS Mustang Football Boosters Club is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the EHS Mustang Football program. This includes volunteer work to get things done as well as financial support.
Activities
The activities of the boosters can be divided into 3 primary categories:
- Team Events/Special Projects
- Facilities Maintenance/Improvement
- Financial
Each of these areas requires provides vital support to the football program.
Team Events/Special Projects Many of the projects undertaken are for the kids themselves. These activities help bring the team together and recognize the players for their efforts.
Each season kicks off with a summer program and football camp. The players work hard to improve their strength, speed and stamina and start to come together as a team. The Pre-season BBQ traditionally marks the end of the summer program and the beginning of the season.
During the season, the Boosters provide the Varsity players a pre-game meal, giving the team energy while they undertake last minute preparations for the game.
At the end of the season, the Boosters host an Awards Banquet to recognize the team, the seniors and the players that distinguished themselves during the season. The Boosters prepare a Scrapbook for all players to recap the season.
Facilities Once referred to as "lush" by a local newspaper, the stadium and other facilities require regular upkeep. This includes Pre-season Field Rehab where we do a "spring cleaning" to get the field and bleachers ready for the season. We no longer have to paint lines, but we still have regular maintenance.
From time-to-time, the Boosters undertake Special Facilities Projects to improve the facilities.
Financial Much of the support need for the football program is financial. The expenses that must be covered include:
- Equipment purchase/maintenance
- Team travel
- Game support personnel
- Expenses for team events listed above
- Facility improvements/maintenance
To cover these expenses, the Boosters have a variety of programs to raise funds. One item to keep in mind is that the football program receives ZERO dollars from the school district!
The primary sources of income include:
- Gate receipts, season tickets
- Membership dues
- Advertising
- Fundraisers
The fundraisers include annually recurring projects, such as Apparel Sales, the Auction, and the Lift-a-thon. How The Work Gets DoneEach of the activities and projects list in italic above need someone to make them happen. This is accomplished via Committees. Each committee is guided by a dedicated leader. The leader recruits volunteers and the committee figures out how to get the project done, and then makes it happen. Visit the Contacts page for a list of the standing committees and who to contact for more information and to volunteer. The important part of the committee is the volunteers. Most projects don't require special skills or talent--just the desire to get things done. Some projects, such as field prep, are simply grunt work and can benefit from having lots of help. By spreading the work among many people, the Boosters can achieve some amazing results! Join the fun and take pride in a first-class program! Join the Boosters today!
