JV Assistant Coach David Maxwell
I just moved to Idaho in March of 2007 after proposing to my wonderful fiancé Tina MacMillan (Boise native) in December of 2006. I now live with my future wife and 10yr-old daughter in the North End of Boise, Idaho. The basketball season is definitely helping me get through the winter cold and is a positive influence on my scary drive from my home to the great facilities of Eagle High in the snow. After graduating from Fresno Pacific University with a degree in Communication/Writing Emphasis in 1999 I was an intern for a few months at a television station in Fresno. The constant day-to-day routine and volunteering my time with my old high school basketball team drove me back into the classroom to complete a Master’s Degree in Cross-Cultural Education and Teaching Credential in English. I took my first teaching job in 2001 where I continued to help my ex-high school coach during the basketball season. I have been involved in Basketball for over 20 years of my life. I also have played football and ran track at the college level. My first official coaching job was as a Varsity Coach for three seasons at San Ysidro High School in San Diego. My philosophy was student first, athlete second, so as a teacher first I made sure my students respected and accepted this education mentality and was serious about both their studies and their athletic ability. Although it was a great run, I chose to better my life by moving forward and not looking back. I am excited about being able to learn the game from the more experienced coaches at EHS. Since the day I met them I respected their ideas and approach to the game. I believe that we have something special here in the students, the parents, and the coaching staff.
