What Do I Need To Do Before Tryouts?
Before stepping out on the floor for the first tryout session athletes must submit the following documents:
OVR Waiver Form
Registration Form - If you paid on line rather than printed it off, we have a copy already. When you check in on the day of tryouts just give your name so they can pull your registration form
$20.00 Tryout Fee
The $20.00 tryout fee is non-refundable. It is best to mail the forms to Jan Tobe, 2883 Carpenter Rd., Jamestown, OH 45335. The fee and the required document can be turned in on the day of tryouts if spots are still available. Allow a minimum of 45 minutes for processing any paperwork submitted at tryouts before tryout time.
Athletes trying out for Greene County Club do so knowing that they might be asked to play on an national team. This is not an option. Athletes are placed on teams based on their skill level, using data from tryouts. We may also use the first 2-4 practices to determine team composition.

What Happens After Tryouts?
After tryouts, the coaching staff will meet to determine which girls will be offered a contract to participate in our program. Athletes will be notified by the weekend following Thanksgiving via our web site. The parents of each accepted athlete will be asked to sign the Greene County Club Junior Volleyball Player Contract and return the signed contract with FIRST PAYMENT of $250 to lock in your spot within 10 days of notification or the offer may be withdrawn. If the deposit is not received, we will consider that you do not want to play for Greene County and give your spot to the next player on the depth chart. The 2nd installment of the fees are due by January 1, of the current year. Final payment will be February 1st for the older age groups. Once you sign the contract, you may not play for any other USA Volleyball Junior program during this season.
NEEDED PAERWORK
Each player must submit a MEDICAL RELEASE FORM, WEBSITE RELEASE FORM, the PLAYER CONTRACT and first payment.
MEDICAL RELEASE, WEBSITE RELEASE AND PLAYER CONTRACT ARE LOCATED IN THE HANDOUTS TAB.
The athlete will be assigned to an age group for the first two to four practice sessions. These practices are extremely important because the Coaches will evaluate players in depth. At this time players will be placed on an national team or a regional team.
|
What If I Played Last Year?
Every athlete in the Club will be evaluated each year. Each athlete must come to the tryouts ready to compete for a position on one of our teams. An athlete who cannot participate in tryouts because of a limiting physical or medical condition or absence should talk to the Club Director, Jan Tobe, prior to the start of the tryout period to determine the status of their ability to play on one of the teams. Players should never assume because they were on a previous Greene County team that they will automatically be on a future team.
