The event went very well with several items collected and recycled. Money that was turned in the day of the event totaled $180.00. Mr. Qualls took a second load of recyclables on Sunday January 25th and turned the money into Coach Nehring at the meeting.
This was a good fundraiser that the parents considered doing again early in the upcoming season.

    New Business

    · At the November meeting Coach Nehring discussed a Shirt Fundraiser that was brought forth by Mr. Confair (Boys Basketball 2007/2008). Shirt sales would yield a $10.00 to $15.00 profit on each one. Coach Nehring will make flyers and distribute. Shirts can be sold on campus. More info to follow.

At the January Booster meeting, Coach Nehring indicated this fundraiser never materialized. Coach Nehring will pursue this fundraiser in the coming year.

    Roundtable

    · The end of the year banquet was discussed.
o Beth Hanson will check on the Hughes Center’s availability in March. If available she will reserve the room depositing $100.00
o The group thought the banquet should be done during the week.
o Coach Nehring suggested the banquet begin at 6:30 and end no later than 9pm. March 11th or the 18th looked good.
o Coach Nehring indicated food is normally secured by the varsity parents. Last year they used Bobby Baja’s Restaurant. (Mrs. Brown will be contacted to see if she will coordinate the food.)
o Tickets were sold for the banquet at $5.00 each.
o Mr. Qualls reminded parents to submit photos for the PowerPoint presentation.
o Mrs. Ireland and Mr. Hanson will coordinate on production of the PowerPoint presentation.

Mr. Ireland asked Coach Nehring if there was a possibility of Claremont moving from the Baseline League to a more competitive league for our ladies.

Coach Nehring indicated there have been discussions about Claremont moving to another league which encompasses schools such as Montclair and Chaffey High School which are more aligned with our caliber of talent. Coach Nehring said there are three criteria that the realignment board looks at. They are competitive balance, proximity and school size. Coach Nehring said Claremont will be up for review after next season.

Beth Hanson spoke about how we could more accommodate the Freshman parents at our meetings. In the future we will try to schedule meetings where we can get the most support and attendance from all teams.

Darryl Qualls asked about CYB Night which was talked about in a previous meeting. This is an evening where Coach Nehring would invite the Claremont Youth Basketball players to a home game. The CYB players would play basketball on the court during halftime. This will foster a relationship between the high school and CYB for future matriculation.

Beth Hanson said the girls teams will be traveling to Azusa Pacific University to support and watch former WolfPack player Amber Williams play. We will be traveling either Saturday February 21 or Thursday February 26th. We need to know how many ladies will be going and we need parents to drive.

The event would entail each player on all teams canvassing their respective neighborhoods and asking the neighbors for bottles and cans. If the resident wanted to make am immediate donation, the player could take the donation at that time. The recyclables would be taken to the school on a Saturday morning where all would be compiled and taken to a recycling center by parents and volunteers.
