Important Dates:

Gear:
If you don’t have it already, go ahead and get it now, so your player can start practicing! We will have some stick packages available for sale at the on-site registration as well as at the parents meeting. Please see "Equipment" Tab in the left Menu Bar for more information.
Conditioning:
Start warming up now. Practice stick skills; find a partner or a wall, and practice, practice, practice. Players must work on stick skills outside of practice times in order to be successful on the field. Also, do some stretching, conditioning (sit ups, push ups, lunges, etc) and running. Please see "Conditioning" Tab in the left Menu Bar for more information.
Equipment Requirements for practices and games:
- LAX Goggles
- Mouthpiece - colored; not clear or white
- Girls LAX stick
- Girls Lacrosse Gloves - optional
- Cleats: Not required, STRONGLY recommended
- Jersey or T-Shirt - see below
Age Groupings:
- U15 - Grades 7th & 8th
- U13 - Grades 5th & 6th
- U11 – Grades 3rd & 4th
- U9 - Grades K - 2nd
Uniforms:
During the Spring Season the uniform consists of a Jersey or T-Shirt (see below) and black shorts. Your daughter may wear ANY black shorts. If you would like to buy the Linganore or Urbana LAX Shorts click on the "Apparel" Tab in the Left Menu Bar.

U11 Teams through U15 Teams
Jerseys are provided for borrow only. All Jerseys must be returned at the end of the season.
U9 Teams
All players on the U9 Team receive free T-shirts to keep.
- SHORTS
All players in every Age Group are expected to wear black shorts and appropriate footwear to games. All players in every Age Group are expected to wear sport clothing (NO jeans), and appropriate footwear to practices.
When the weather is cold we suggest wearing sweat pants or athletic tights (e.g. Under Armour Cold Gear).
Practice Times and Locations
Girls typically practice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Exact days are determined by Coaching and Field availability, Field Allocation by the LUYAA field committee, and Frederick County Parks and Recreation.

Game Schedules
Games are typically played on Sunday, although some teams may have an occasional Saturday game. Once all schedules are finalized they will be available using the "CALENDAR" Tab in the left Menu Bar. You might need to scroll up. Also available at the WMYLC Schedules.

- Be On Time
Please understand that Teams count on ALL players to attend ALL practices and ALL games. You are also expected be on time and ready to play when you arrive for all Games and Practices. Please be sure to communicate with your coach of any changes, injuries, or issues of importance. Otherwise, please leave the coaching to the coaches. They are approachable, but are also very skilled and committed to our primary goals. Please follow the LUYAA chain of command as needed for additional communication.
- No Jewelry
ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY WILL BE PERMITTED DURING GAMES. Last year for the Spring 2008 Season WMYLC allowed newly pierced ears to be taped, but that will NOT be permitted for the 2009 Spring Season. Please consider waiting until after lacrosse season to have ears pierced.
