Cardinals Pee Wee Advances to ACJFL Semi-Finals
The Pee Wee squad's playoff run ended Saturday afternoon at Hammonton at the hands of the undefeated Egg Harbor City Crusaders. The Crusaders scored on their second play from scrimmage & again midway through the 4th quarter to account for all of the game's scoring. Both EHC plays went for over 60 yards. Other than those two breakaway runs, the Crusader offense was only able to muster 1 first down the rest of the way in their 14-0 victory. The Cardinal offense controlled the line of scrimmage & time of possession but broke down twice in the red zone. The Crusaders will meet the winner of tomorrow's Atlantic City vs. Pleasantville game next Sunday at Hammonton High School for the ACJFL Pee Wee championship.
Congratulations to Northfield's 6 Pee Wee all-star representatives. They are Anthony Lord, Garrett Dolan, Shaun Summers, Nick Atohi, Matthew Stellitano, and Connor Foley. These players should report to the Mays Landing field for a 6:00pm practice on Monday. We will have our equipment return during the week following the all-star game, which will be played on November 28th at Pleasantville.
Thank you to my incredible coaching staff. It is a tireless and dedicated group of coaches that always puts the players interests first. Congratulations on another successful season. I hope that you all return next year after recharging your batteries over the next 8 months. We have some unfinished business to tend to.
Thank you to our amazing group of parents. You are truly the class of the league. You are a dedicated, committed and caring bunch. You should all be commended for raising respectful and coachable kids. You make our jobs as coaches that much easier. Special thanks to our team moms Natalia, Lisa & Annette.
Good luck to our 9-year-olds that will be moving on to Junior Varsity. It was a pleasure to coach you again. You will be missed. Stop over to the utility field next year to say hello to your old coaches.
We expect big things from our 8-year-old class coming back next year. You were 7-1 as taxi players and undefeated in Pee Wee "B" games this season. I will be in touch with each of you shortly to talk about what you can do this off-season to improve for next year. The coaching staff believes that you have a real chance to do something special. Enjoy the off-season. I hope to see all of you at the football banquet on Tuesday, December 8th.
