Jaguars split doubleheader versus previously undefeated South Brunswick Vikings
May 15, 2004 --
Lose 4-3 heartbreaker in opener and win 5-4 thriller in second
The New Jersey Jaguars traveled to South Brunswick and split a pair of games against the 8-0 South Brunswick Vikings in AAU Super Series play.
Game #1 - South Brunswick 4 Jaguars 3
The jaguars took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning and South Brunswick rallied for four runs in the fifth. Nick Fiore started the opener and pitched outstanding, giving way to Kevin Anderson on this hot day. Anderson also pitched very well but fell victim to several "seeing eye" hits. On offense, Alex DeBellis had an outstanding game, going 3-3. Alex Ott also had a great game with two hits, a run scored and some solid plays at first base
Game #2 - Jaguars 5 South Brunswick 4
In the type of game that the jaguars have certainly lost their fair share of, the jags trailed 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth. With one out, Alex ott started things off with his second hit of the game. Tom Kassab followed with a walk and a great at-bat. Andrew Argiriou was hit by a pitch, creating a bases loaded situation for Ryan Szymansky. Szymansky lined a beautiful two run single to right, scoring two runs and tying the game. Joe Pierce followed with a walk, setting the stage for Logan Pevny. Pevny, in a self-proclaimed "slump," smashed one over the left fielders head - a la Delaware - to give the Jaguars a much needed win in yet another nail biter.
On defense, Alex Debellis and Alex Ott shared the pitching duties and both pitched well. Tommy Kassab made some great plays at third, Ryan Szymansky did a great job at short and Tom Goulian played his customary great game at second.
We truly feel that winning a game like this against yet another strong opponent will take this very competitive team to the next level. GO JAGUARS!!!!!!

Trailing 3-1 bottom five, Tommy Kassab drew a walk and Bill Loffredo got a key hit and both runners scored on sacrifices. With one out in the bottom of the sixth and a 3-3 tie, Nick Fiore stepped to the plate and hit a laser over the right center fence to end the game and secure the jaguars' first team tournament championship.

Despite heroic effort, jaguars lose 9-8 in championship
November 6, 2005 --
the jaguars, 14u east champions at 12-0, played a big and very talented morris area naturals team and lost 9-8 in the cerbo east/west championship today at indian hills. although there was plenty of magic in the jaguars gloves and bats today, it was not quite enough to get by this talented team.
the jaguars gave up 6 runs in the first inning but, in what was a recurring theme over this weekend, never gave up and made the coaches so very proud. In the bottom of the 7th, mike scaduto led off and hit a breaking ball, 375 foot rope that the centerfielder made an unbelievable play on. down 9-5, max litvak came up with a huge 2 run double. Artie lewicki then hit a run scoring sacrifice. with two outs and man on third, jonathan gancas hit a rope that was fielded on one hop by the second baseman for the last out
once again, artie lewicki came out of the bullpen and hurled 6 terrific innings, keeping a "muderers row" hitting lineup at bay for the most part. mike scaduto had a giant game behind the plate, throwing out numerous runners and basically taking control of the game. here are the stats:
-debellis hit, run scored, rbi
-tabakman hit, run scored, rbi
-delcolle hit, run scored, 6 putouts at third base
-scaduto hit, sac rbi
-cumella sac, run scored
-pevny hit, run scored
-argenziano hit, run scored
-litvak single, double, 2 rbi
-lewicki double, run scored
-gancas hit
all 10 jaguars are mentioned, because all 10 jaguars contributed to this gallant effort. this weeekend, the jaguars took their game to the next level as they learned "how to win" and how to never give up until the last out
SO ENDS A BANNER SEASON! 62 WINS, NUMEROUS LEAGUE AND TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT BASEBALL GAME IN FEBRUARY IN FLORIDA! BASKETBALL DOES NOT SEEM SO EXCITING ANY MORE, HAVING HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH THIS INCREDIBLE GROUP OF KIDS AND PARENTS!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND COMMITMENT

June 12, 2005 --
the jaguars assured their position in the playoffs with two convicing wins vs. the Cal Ripken Pirates, winning a doubleheader 10-3 and 19-1.

In game #1, jared skinner pitched 3 shutout innings and alex debellis came in in the 4th with bases loaded and finshed the game allowing only one unearned run.jordan tabkman had 4 solid at-bats with two hits and jared skinner aided his cause with two hits. nick fiore had a key bases loaded, two out double in the 3rd to give the jags the cushion they needed
in game #2, the jaguars scored 19 runs in 4 innings. jordan tabakman maintained a red hot bat with three hits and andrew argiriou had 3 hits. debellis, delcolle, argenziano, and esapda also had 2 hits apiece (espada had two long doubles). sal cumella and john espada pitched strong innings and espada had a great day in the field making all his plays at second base
the jaguars will be in the playoffs next weekend and hopefully contend for the 13u aau league championship. It is good to see the team playing to its potential once again!

Jaguars defeat Future Stars 16-6 to end fall regular season
October 31, 2004 --
The New Jersey Jaguars defeated the Edison Future Stars 16-6. The win was very meaningful for the Jags in that the Future Stars have long been recognized as one of the better club teams in New Jersey.
Jordan Tabakman pitched a strong five innings for the Jaguars, surrendering only three runs. Jared Skinner also pitched extremely well, throwing the last three innings. On offense, Alex DeBellis had two hits and three rbi's and Jared Skinner had three runs scored. Overall, the Jags displayed great patience at the plate and, on the basepaths, took advantage of every opportunity on a windy day that was difficult for pitchers and catchers.
The jaguars head into the playoffs next weekend having accomplished an awful lot since the team's inception last fall. Their only two losses in fall league play were by three and one run respectively against excellent teams. Stay tuned!

Jaguars blank MC Select 7-0 in 9 innings
September 25, 2004 --
stellar defense and pitching is key in big win
The New jersey jaguars defeated MC Select today 7-0 in ECTB super regional fall series play. It was a superb all-around effort in what was one of the jaguars' best games as a team. On defense, only two hits were surrendered as Jordan Tabkman, newcomer Dylan Renna from West Milford, Nick Fiore and Logan Pevny all pitched outstanding. Jordan Tabakman also did an outstanding job at third base, fielding a half dozen balls cleanly and making all perfect throws to first.
On offense, Logan Pevny had his best hitting day as a Jaguar, going four for four. Logan is working extremely hard on his hitting and it is clearly paying off. Dylan Renna also had two hits in his first game as jag, Alex Debellis' two run double in the 2nd broke the game open and Ryan Szymansky also had a nice rbi single. The jaguars currently sit in 1st place in the ECTB fall league. Way to go jaguars!!!
