Coach Alan Lydiate has been coaching the Galaxy since August 2006. He holds a USSF National C license, and an English Football Association (Level 1& 2) Certificate in coaching. Alan is currently Director of Coaching with the Brit-Am Soccer Academy and assistant coach for the TSC Maryland Pride Women's Semi-professional soccer team.
Alan started playing competitive football (soccer) from the age of 4 years through to the age of 15 years at which time he was picked to play for his home town team Blackpool school boys. Alan also played for a semi-professional team called, Blackpool Wren Rovers. As a school boy he attended the Bobby Charlton School of Soccer at the same time as the famous David Beckham. There he was picked to represent the school and England, in an international tournament held in Stoke-on-Trent England. After coaching children in England as a volunteer he decided to pursue it as a career and moved to the USA in 2003/2004. Coach Lydiate uses his 25 years of playing and coaching experience to help each player reach his full potential as a soccer player and athlete.
