Frequently Asked Questions
When do practices begin?
Practices start the first week in April. Practices are generally twice a week until the start of the season for all divisions, but are scheduled at the discretion of the coach.
When will we receive our uniforms?
After registration is complete, we are working hard to identify how many teams we can build for each division. Once the team build count is established, an order is placed for the uniforms about mid February. Uniform distribution will take place during the last two weeks of April where a board member will drop them off at one of your weekly practices.
What is expected of parents?
All families must sign and return a "no tolerance" form . Please attend games (your child knows when you are missing!), support the team and coaches, practice basic skills with your child, and make it an enjoyable experience for all involved. Many of the umpires are teens, but they are in charge, so proper behavior towards them is expected, as well as the adult umpires.
What happens if I don't register by 1/31/09?
If you miss the January 26th deadline, your child's registration may be placed on a waiting list. We cannot guarantee your child's participation on a team, but will make every effort to accommodate your registration. Any registration received after 01/31/08 will incur a fee increase of $25.00 per registrant.
How is the Registration fee used?
This fee covers expenses to put a player on the field during the spring season. This includes: Uniforms (hat, shirt, pants, and socks, which the players keep), trophies, equipment, insurance, charter fees, umpires, and costs for the Peotone Park District, such as maintenance, and out of district fees. The generosity of our team sponsors, and donors supports costs not covered by the registration fee.
When are pictures taken? When Will I get them?
Pictures are taken on opening day at the Peotone Park District.. The manager of your team will hand out picture option packages approximately one week prior to the day pictures are taken. Included with the picture option packages will be a dedicated time when your team will take pictures. You will receive your pictures at home via US Mail.
What should I do with my raffle ticket stubs?
Raffle tickets stubs should be given to your manager or coach during any of the practices prior to opening day. The raffle drawing will be held on opening day.
