Why Tecolote?
Tecolote has a board dedicated to a positive baseball experience for all of the children in our league. Tecolote managers and coaches take an innovative approach to the teaching of baseball fundamentals. We take pride in having superior facilities and training aids. There is a history of excellence at Tecolote, including the 1990 World Champions-Mustang Division!!! We bat the entire line-up in all divisions. Your child is always “in the game” at Tecolote!
Why Pony Youth Baseball?
P.O.N.Y. Baseball has been established for over 40 years and is an international organization. All children are grouped by age, not “ability”. The kids play with their friends & classmates their entire “career”. Shetland Division (T-Ball) starts one year earlier than Little League, and a pitching machine used in the second half. Pinto Division players use a pitching machine the entire season. No walks!! Players must learn to hit the ball. FULL baseball rules starting in Mustang. Players lead off and really steal!! Pitchers wind up and pitch from the “stretch”! 10 year old players will not be drafted up into Bronco division! All Star Competition and Memorial Day Tournament teams (“A” & “B”) at all levels including Shetland. Graduated base and pitching distances. P.O.N.Y. baseball prepares kids for a higher level of play from early on.
