CFWBL '09
Today, the draft for the 2009 Wiffleball season took place at the Cox Residence. This is an important date in CFWBL History, due to the fact that this is a major revival of the sport in our neighborhood. The league has 4 teams, like always, and 2009 proves to be an exciting season as their are new arrivals to the league. The managers/teams are as followed:

After a controverisal call in 7th inning, 2 players tension rose and it got ugly. Captain Mitch Cox and power hitter Tommy Yoon went at it. The score was 7-5 the Nimrods led, but the Class were crawling back in it. Mitch Cox had Tommy 0-2 count, and threw 2 strikes which were called balls. Then next pitch Tommy went yard for a 3 run shot to break the game open. As Yoon was rounding the bases words were exchanged between the 2 players. Mitch ended up picking up to balls and fired them at Yoon hitting him both times. The 2 never settled the pickering until after the game where shoves and pushes were given to each other. After a meeting between John Church and Ryan Rosburg they came to the decision to suspend the 2 for the CFWBL 2008 All-Star Game. Look forward to the future matchups between the Class and Nimrods. We will hold a press conference with the two, to see their perspective on the suspension. The Nimrods held on to win 10-6 in a very heated ball game.

THE CLASS Get First W For The Year
Apparently the tunnel does have light at the end for the Chesterfield Farms Class. After going on a 4 game losing drought they finally get their fist win over the 2-3 Big Stix. The game was decided on a 2-run shot by captain, Mitch Cox. Mitch started the game very slow. Was 1 for 6 in his first six at bats. But knew he had to step it up. He did. He finished the game going 4 for 4 with 2 homeruns. But it was an all around performance for the squad. Grant Jansen who has been off to a slow start, picked it up and starting ripping the ball. And Scott Prsha has been solid all year long, but could not get any help all year. Scott also made some very clutch plays over at short to give them the edge. Jack Kafoury had a tough game. Pitched 2 innings giving up 7 runs. But Mitch picked him by pitching 7 good innings and giving up only 3 runs. Jack hit the ball hard every at bat, but stud left fielder Chad Prsha was always there making good plays. In the end the Class won on a team effort. And everybody contributed to the W.

WiffleBallers Decide They Can’t Carry Big Kids Excuses on Their Backs Anymore,
Leave the Burden Behind
Fellow Wiffleballers of the still of the “youth” have voted former bigger members of the CFWBL out. Of course, it was a hard decision to make, but Matt Cox, Danny Church, and Andy Rosburg had to go. The main reason for this was undedication, as various excuses were made to miss CFWBL games, ranging from track meets to work. A meeting at Mitchell Cox’s house today was the place of decision. This was the also the area where many other decisions were made, affecting the overall status of goodness of the Chesterfield Farms Wiffleball Community. It is sad to see an event like this happen, but most agree it had to be done, and that’s that. We can’t go on not playing wiffleball due to excuses by the elder. Some of the feelings expressed during this meeting were There’s too much going on for them whether it be track meets or work and harsher ones such as I just can’t take this undedication anymore. I, myself, would just like to add a culminating comment to all of the kids dismissed from the league: thanks for the memories, it’s been fun.
CFWBL Draft Held Today
More history was added to the short lived tradition of the CFWBL on Sunday, March 02, Two Thousand and Eight. This history is also known as the CFWBL draft. This year, a 4 team format was introduced, each team consisting of a captain and three other players. The captains of the teams are Ryan Rosburg, John Church, Mitch Cox, and Ryan Allee. The 1st overall pick of the draft was Chad Prsha, who went to John Church’s team. The teams are as followed: (teams..) The draft ended up being a success, and we should be in for a real treat, as there is no clear frontrunner in this league. As the season progresses, we’ll see who’s the fastest, best pitcher, best fielder, and best hitter. Any one in the league, at any time could emerge as a leader and help guide their team onward to victory.
Staff of “The Franchise” to be Expanded
During The CFWBL meeting today, many topics came up. One of these topics was getting an editor for my newsletter, “The Franchise.” John Church has told me that he is very eager to help me make my newsletter the best that it can be. So, we would like to welcome, John Church to “The Franchise” Staff. John will begin his new job in next week’s issue. John will be vital to the newsletter, as it should be the best possible-you know what they say, “the more, the merrier,” and in this case, better. The description of Mr. Church’s Job is to proofread the paper, and make it more appealing to the reader in any way possible. Thank You, John!
