Juice, Bringing Sexy Back!!!
First, welcome those of you new to the Juice! Certainly, you're crazier then you thought to play with us. This year holds new plans for the Juice. Including, a handing down of the reins to Mark, who will be setting up the lineup each week. We've added a few new pitchers which actually means we might be able to utilize a rotation (holy S*&#, is that legal!) maybe even a closer. Hold on, let me check... does that means Kev won't have to pitch all 20 games. Other news, pitchers may be DH'd for this year :)Fee's this year are relatively small $211 for those returning, more for those who need a Jersey, Hat, etc.

In other news, there is the possibility we may be moved up to 18AA. We won't know until later next week. Also, Mathis would like to discuss the possibility of having a Home & Away Jersey's. He's thinking Black jerseys, black socks and belts.

First Juice RBI
March 19, 2007  --

Congratulations to Jeff Cruz for being the first Juice player to get an RBI this season! Although he didn't vote in the poll for himself (like so many of us do) it certainly shocked many of us : ) Of course Cruz claims he knew all along it would be him. Who knew at 59 and with a head the size of a bowling ball you could actually still see the ball to hit it. In other news let's never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever let Sunday's performance happen again.

1st Home Run, 1st win for Juice!
April 8, 2007  --

Although 3 home runs were launched against the Juice in their home opener March 25th, 2007 against the Phantoms; it didn't take away from the IMPRESSIVE, APRIL 1st HR and all important first "HOME RUN SHOT" of the season, from Left Fielder Darius Jones. Although Darius "Always the humble one" Jones didn't vote for himself, the Juice poll showed, "it's left up to our Dark Juicy Bitch" it's Long, Deep and Gone.... sounds like he might be a brotha'. For those of you unfamiliar with the Juice. Darius has always been the token.....

...........hit the S*%$ out of the ball, in the gap, were know one in hell has a chance of getting to it, but some how, some way, someone always manages to glove his hit...token player!!!

However, Darius broke out of his "Token-2-year slump" and helped lead his team to a 12-2, 1st season Victory over newly added NABA team the SILVER BULLETS with 1 double, 1 home run, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's .

Unfortunately, the difficult task of writing this article came about when Matt "I'll get it done" Schultz took the mound for his glorious and monumental return to Juice glory. During a game last season Matt experienced what only Jeff Cruz can describe as an intense burning and tearing sensation in his most holy of places....his arm! You see much like Matt, Jeff must rely on his arm, and subsequent hand to “get the job done.” Unfortunately, unlike Jeff, Matt had to put the dream of making others swing their big stick too rest for the remainder of the season. Matt made his triumphant return to Juice glory by striking out 8 Bullets, while allowing only 1 earned run on 3 hits, while only walking 2 Bullets.

Although early in the season , Juice memebers aren't afraid to admit their confidenceine in a team/division championship. No it isn't Kenny's long awaited reuniting with "He's My FRIEND" Stewart "Is that a Gucci" Cables return to baseball. It is however the excitement about how baseball should be played with or without a great sportsman, friend and baller Stew “Fuc* Kenny’s Comments” cables. With minimal errors committed, Juice baseball is taking a road it should have traveled long ago. With brilliant, diving plays from Short Stop Mark Cressman, solid fielding from Marquis Davis at First base, or new rookies making the "Routine" play at second, first, left field, center and home “I’ll get it done before quis” the 18A NABA division 18a should realize there is real Baseball being played in Juice Country.

For many the season is long, and the road is hard...For Louis(C) & (Lewis (SS)) settle down no need to get excited we’re only talking baseball. For the rest of you....How will you answer the call?

Will you decide it can be done without you? Will you allow your teammates to lose because you had "BETTER" things to do? Will you decide that sitting the bench just isn't worth your time?...or will you realize that your support matters...for that inning...for that hour...for the game!

It's time to DECIDE. "What will you do today...will it echo for eternity!". . Many of us, since joining this team have aged. There are those of us who have come close to the dream of a championship, and there are those of us who earned a championship. My hope is that this season we realize we are a team of EXTRAORDINARY ATHLETES, PLAYERS, COMPETITORS AND CHAMPIONS…READY TO ECHO OUR DREAM ...and to EARN WHAT IS OURS...A CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Let's send a message to the NABA. WE ARE CHAMPIONS.

IF YOU’RE READY VOTE!!!

ARE YOU IN???

Juice Style Ball Wins One!!
April 24, 2007  --   Good to put last weeks game behind us. Louis great game, 1 hit shy of getting the first Cycle of the year, and according to Kenny it would have been a Juice first. Kev and Matt thanks for keeping us in the game and then putting it away in the end.

Despite the win, we didn't bring our best game. With many errors committed around the field it made it difficult for our pitcher's to stay sharp and focused. The question now becomes how can we change our fielding stats. Right now as a team we have an uimpressive .800 fielding average. Not very good! Consider, 1 of those games we created the opportunity for the other team to win by giving up so many errors. To date we have committed 27 errors! Myself, I plan on getting to the field and taking a little extra infield before the game. Outfielders, I know you guys get the short end of the stick, so if someone isn't starting would you step up and hit balls to the outfield while the infield is taking their rotations.

Also, it has come up on a couple of occassions. So I thought I would take a moment to address the situation. We are a Championship Caliber Team! Let's start using the baseball knowledge we've accumulated over the years and act like we know a little about the game. On the base path, if the ball is hit in front of you, don't run to the next base if you don't have too. We've had a couple of situations occur already this year. By making terrible base running choices it removes our momentum and gives it to the other team. Second, everyone, and I mean everyone had better start learning the signs; To give them as a base coach and to use them at the plate. If you don't feel comfortable because you don't know the players skill level, or you don't want to mess up, call someone to take your spot, or ask someone if they would make the call.

Come One Come All to the Worst Show on Earth!
July 2, 2007  --   0-fers at the plate, multiple errors in the field, in decisions about were a cut should go. Does anyone else feel like we're a better team then this? Or is this just how we play baseball? Out of our 5 losses 4 have come from us straight up handing the game to the other team. We are a first place caliber team struggling to hold onto a fourth place spot. A team that has time and time again dominated opponents, on the mound with the bats only to walk away empty handed. We've faced good and bad teams and yet the results are the same, we can't close it out. A prime example, talking with Marquis yesterday. He told me, "In the 2 years I've caught Kev, this was his best ever....He hit his locations and kept the ball playable for the fielders." Yet once again we all let Kevin down. He's tired of it, he feels snake bit and confused as to how a quality team like the Juice plays like it belongs at the bottom of the 18 Rookie division.

It's my impression teams fear playing us. The way their players talk to us when we're on base or they are. They hold us with high regard. Batters are feared for what they can do at the plate, fielders are respected for their ability and range, pitchers are feared for their dominance. Yet we look like and act like we're a bunch of first timers. I can't tell you how tired I am of feeling like we've been kicked in the nuts...again....and again...and again. How many more times can you all handle it? We've got to figure something out! We talked about this at the beginning of the season. Everyone said, "It's early lets not start worrying about it yet." Well guys, time to start worrying. Amazing as it might sound the Bombers aren't to many games back from us. If we don't watch ourselves before you know it they could be breathing down our necks. Mark and I are going to shake things up a little. Games against tough teams, teams that are ahead of us in rank will be facing a different look from the Juice. There are a few other changes coming as well. Yesterday made me sick, I hope it made the rest of you sick as well. If it did lets start playing ball and stop being a 3 RING CIRCUS SHOW.

Juice sweep weekend
August 22, 2007  --   The Juice make it 6 straight wins heading into the season finally. Saturday's game featured a back and forth battle between the Juice and the Bulldogs, in a game with major playoff implications. The Juice bullpen came up huge allowing only 4 runs over the last 5 innings, and the bats stayed hot, racking up 15 hits against strong Bulldog pitching.

The second game of the weekend saw a determined Juice squad taking on the Bombers who were fighting for their playoff lives. After jumping out to a 5-3 lead, The Juice struggled to gets outs in the second inning allowing 6 runs to cross the plate. Finding themselves down 5-9, the bats woke up, scoring 24 runs in next 6 innings, including a 13 run 8th. The Bombers decided not to take their at bats in the bottom of the 8th inning due to the lights on the field needing to be turned off, however it was obvious that the lights had already been turned off on the Bombers. Kevin Kennedy proved to be too much for the Bombers to handle going 4-5 at the plate with 4 RBI. Kennedy touched up Bomber pitching for two doubles and his first triple of the year. Kennedy also came to the Juices' rescue on the mound. Taking over in the 3rd inning and going the distance, allowing only 3 runs late in the game.

Juice to play for first Championship in franchise history
September 10, 2007  --   Juice vs Phantoms Sunday Sept 16th 9am at Machebuef HS

Following a 9-6 victory over the rival Titans, the Juice launched themselves into the 18A title game where they will face the regular season champion Phantoms. Kevin Kennedy threw his third complete game of the season and added the go ahead home run in the bottom of the 7th the help lead the Juice. Kennedy was essentially 3 pitches away from a shut, but nobody is perfect. The Juice added 2 more home runs during the game, one each by Darius Jones and Mathis Santella. For Darius it what his first home run since hitting his last
home run, and looked to be possibly his last of the season as he was hit by sniper fire just prior to reaching first base. Jones was unable to round the bases but teammate Kenny Medina stepped up and did it for him. Although Kenny took his time on what wasn’t even his home run trot, runs are runs and when it’s win or go home that’s all that counts. As for Darius’ status for the championship game, he will most likely be a game time decision. The win also evened the season series against the Titans to 2-2.

Game time and location for the Championship game has not been determined yet. However the Juice are hoping for a time that does not conflict with the Broncos game so that Santella will actually pay attention when in the field and not listen to the games play by play on the radio. More details to follow.

LIFE

Life is like a game of baseball,
You play it every day.
It isn't just the breaks you get,
But the kind of game you play.

So stop and look your whole team over,
And you'll find dedication there.
You're bound to be a winner,
With men who really care.

Your pitcher's name is courage,
You need him in the game.
For faith and trust your keystone men,
The grounders they will tame.

Your center fielder is very fast,
Though small and hard to see.
So watch him, son, when he gets,
The ball he's opportunity.

In left field there's ambition,
Never let him shirk.
For in right field there's a husky man,
I'm told his name is work.

At first base there's religion,
He's stood the test of time.
At third base there's brotherhood,
The stalwart of the nine.

Your catcher's name is humor,
He's important to the scheme.
For with honor warming in the bull pen,
The game is always clean.

With love on the bench,
You've perfection no less.
With a winning team,
And joy and happiness.

Your other team is strong, son,
Greed, hatred, envy and defeat.
Are for strong infielders,
You'll have to buck to make your game complete.

Deceitfulness and a man called waste,
Are always playing hard.
Selfishness and jealousy,
None can you disregard.

Carelessness and falsehood,
Are the big boys in the pen.
You'll have to swing hard, son,
When you come up to them.

There's one more man you'll have to watch,
He's always very near.
He's the pitcher on that team,
And I'm told his name is fear.

This game will not be easy,
There'll be trouble, there'll be strife.
To make the winning runs, my boy,
For this game is played on the field of life.

So stand behind your team, my boy,
There'll be many who'll applaud.
Just remember that you're the player,
And the umpire here is God.

Off Season Trade for Rookies Proves Lucrative!
March 12, 2007  --

In a move that shocked and stunned the Juice Organization and for that matter the entire NABA World; former Juice standout, super star athlete and all around team player, Scott "break-an-ankle" Tanner left the organization this spring. The Juice, shocked and saddened were Left without a star center fielder. He also left a void at the plate which will be difficult to replace. No other team member in the history of the Juice was able to produce at the plate quite like he did! In a quote from former team member Mark Cressman, "I can't remember the last time someone launched 2 home runs in a game...and then is moved to the bottom of the lineup the next game...it's unheard of!" Often injury plagued Scott could take solace in the fact that his teammates were 100% behind his recovery. One team member who wished to remain anonymous had this to say, "Injuries take time to heal. In his case, I'm glad he took a little extra time to heal...we needed his jumping ability in center to bring back the deep one."

With such a devastating loss it was feared the Juice organization would crumble and be left with only Kenny Medina to pick up the shattered pieces. Fortunately, through savvy negotiations and quick work by Juice management, the Juice were able to acquire 4 new rookies. After this weeks practice it is evident the Juice organization knows how to handle business. The 2 youngest rookies at Sunday's practice demonstrated knowledge of the game far greater then anyone expected at such a tender age. Coach Bryan Cressman, "They appear to be getting along with all the vets. There's no air of superiority, and they are willing to listen and learn...something #7 could have learned a little about." The other rookie, new to the juice but veteran to the game also looked like he was in game time shape. Coach Cressman, "Yeah I've seen it a thousand times on this team, guy shows up to practice, no training all year long and comes in and plays like he did when he was 18. Good to see!"

This weekend will be the first game for the Juice. Hopefully, they can squeak one out without #7.

The Juice- Are team members ready to testify to a grand jury! (parody)
The 2005 NABA season is just around the corner, and a midst the excitement, new allegations have risen up over the controversial team name "The Juice." In a surprise off-season move by management, players, formerly of the “PIGS”, now find they are playing in a more competitive division, under a new team name. Could the move to division 18AA have prompted some of the players to “Enhance” their personal ability by taking physique-altering medication. Is the new team name an indication of behavior from team members? One player commented, "I ain’t gett’in no younger. A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do, and if that means putt’in a little extra pop in my bat, well...., tough!”

Rumors began to circulate last season when players from the PIGS launched an unprecedented 12 home runs out of Ft. Lupton’s infamous ball field by the highway. Cause for concern became apparent, when home run leader Weston Wicks blatantly spiked a player sliding into second base. Although, viewed by team members as a simple “Accident” we have uncovered the truth. A source close to the Juice, gave us this statement.

“What you couldn’t hear from the stands were the heated words exchanged between Wes and the Cardinal player. The Cardinal player called Wes a cheap player, Wes turned on the player and in short, told him "who cares”, this is baseball.”

Other cause for alarm, how did the PIGS put up those staggering run totals last season? If you were witness to any of last season’s games, one would wonder how any team could perform at the level they did. Often players were rolling in minutes before game time. Ill prepared and without warm-up, the PIGS played as if they had the conditioning and stamina of young men. El Canon, as he is called by his teammates, was often one of several players, routinely late. Despite the late show, and little to no warm-up, El Canon performed at top level. This begs the question, How’d they do that?

Is it a coincidence too, many of the players from the JUICE, as ball players like to say, have Rockets for Arms, or Cannons. Is this a secret code among the players? This reporter believes it is. The mounting evidence could be a clear indication that something indeed is surging through the Juice organization. A press conference will be held later this week, at which time members from the Juice will be asked, “What’s in your Juice!”
