Mequon HEAT provides a more competitive outlet for skilled and interested TMYBA baseball and softball players. Teams are aged-based: for baseball, as of April 30th of the current year, and for softball, as of December 31st of the previous year. Mequon HEAT looks to field baseball teams for six age levels (U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, and U14) and softball teams for three age levels (Girls U10, U12 and U14).
Teams are selected via tryouts that typically occur in the August, early September time frame.
HEAT players are required to play TMYBA as well, so participation requires additional cost and time commitments. HEAT teams generally practice indoors during the 2-3 months leading up to the TMYBA season and then on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons once the TMYBA season commences. Games are generally played on weekends and include tournaments around Milwaukee and sometimes outside the local area. HEAT teams will play between 20 - 35 games, depending upon the age group. All costs are borne directly by HEAT participants.
