    Discipline
    Upper Island discipline is being run by Upper Island executive, The purpose is to streamline it in a timely manner and to have consistency with discipline penalties.

    All discipline penalties are based on the BCSA Discipline Policy & Procedure Guide.

    Upper Island executive member Kevin Cowie is the chairperson of the discipline committee.

    Clubs are required to give a contact name and phone # to Kevin by Oct 1.

    Information for Coaches

    If a player is suspended his/her name must still appear on the team list with the word suspended written in the players ID # location instead of the players ID #.

    The suspended player must not be on or near the team bench while under suspension or be in uniform.

    A player accumulating 3 cautions in a playing season from any of the following - league play, island invitational or provincial cup qualifying - must automatically sit out the next game.

    Exhibition games are part of the suspension, but shall not constitute the serving of the suspension.

    Performance Bond

    Purpose: To ensure that teams and clubs adhere to B.C.S.A. and District rules/policies and schedules, and to provide the best experience possible for all participants.

    Clubs are required to maintain a minimum balance of $200.00.

    Bonds must be topped up by September 1st each year.

    Bonds are non-interest earning.

    Club Bonds:
    Gabriola , CVI , and Mid-isle - $200

    Powell River, Oceanside, And Port Alberni - $300

    Campbell River, Comox, and Nanaimo - $500

    Bond fees cannot be used for any protests

    Sanctions:
    . . . Failure by CLUB to report to the UISA scheduler the outcome of all scheduled games in their area for that weekend - $25/weekend.

    . . . Everyone (players, coaches, asst. coach, team manager) must have an id card or they are not allow to play and/or sit on the team bench. Failure to present ID Cards at game - $50 per occurrence.

    . . . League game no show (i.e: cancel without at least 36 hours notice) - $50 per team plus expenses, approved by UISA executive. Second offense by team - $150 plus expenses, approved by UISA executive. Third offense by team - $300 plus expenses, approved by Executive and meeting before UISA executive.

    . . . Withdrawal from Island Invitational Tournament with less than 7 days notice - $300 per team plus expenses, approved by UISA executive or non completion of commitment - $300 per team.

    . . . Use of unregistered or less than 2 registered (minimum class 4) assistant referees for an A or B cup game - $200 per game (and game can be protested).

    . . . Team withdraws from B or C cup after draw has been made or does not fulfill B or C cup commitments all the way to provincials - $750 or current B.C.S.A fine amount.

    . . . Teams with less than 2 scheduled game officials at a game may be fined $50 per game.

    . . . Such other conduct by a team, club or official that the UISA deems to contravene the Rules and Regulations of UISA, the Code of Fair Play or other governing policies from time to time implemented.

    . . . Appeals of fines to Clubs or teams must be made in writing within 5 days of notification. There is a $50 separate fee for each appeal item, payable to the UISA, but refunded if appeal is upheld.

    . . . Protest fee of $200 must accompany protest within 48 hrs of game

    . . . No decision rendered until fee received by the UISA.
