Van Buren Soccer Association
The Van Buren Soccer Association is a non-profit volunteer driven program designed to allow all children ages 3 1/2-19 to play the great sport of soccer, at a low cost in the Van Buren Township area. We are a group dedicated to our community and first and foremost our children. The purpose for our organization is to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children can learn the technical and tactical skills of soccer to compete at any level a child chooses. Of equal importance is our goal to teach life skills such as teamwork, responsibility and commitment. These life skills go beyond soccer and will help children obtain more out of their schooling as they grow into adults.
*The VBSA welcomes all Van Buren residents & Non residents to join.
Recreation Registration Information
The fall soccer deadline will be on June 30th, 2009.
The spring soccer deadline will be on January 31st, 2010.
There are no tryouts held for recreational soccer. We have teams for all ages, 3 1/2-19 years old.
*Registration costs include a complete uniform, insurance, trophies/medal & referee fees.
Coach Information
All coaches for our recreational & travel teams are volunteers, usually a parent of one of the children on the team.
Practice Information
Practices are held at the discretion of the coach's. Most of coach's practice twice a week at one of the local Elementary schools in the township. See the field tab to find your practice location.
Game Information
Each age group will play 8-10 games per season, depending on how many teams are in each age group.
Children ages 4-8 years old will play all of their games in Quirk park located directly behind the Van Buren Township Hall on the corner of Tyler and Quirk Road.
Children ages 9-19 years old are placed on a travel recreational team. They will play half of their games in Quirk Park and the other half of the games will be played in the surrounding communities, such as Canton, Westland, and Livonia, not to exceed 20 miles in distance.
Van Buren Wildcats FC select teams
All Wildcats teams will be coached by a professional licensed soccer coach. These teams practice twice a week at Quirk park (practice area). All games are played within WSSL and MSPSP. Teams will have 8 to 10 games, depending on the amount of teams in each division. All home games are held at Quirk park and the away games are not to exceed 45 minutes in distance. Tryouts will be held in June 2010. Please contact Rodrigo Gonzalez if you are interested in joining the Wildcats FC.
VBSA Board Information
The Van Buren Soccer Association is a volunteer driven organization. The board is always diligently working on trying to improve our soccer program in Van Buren. The board takes pride in our community & the fields that Van Buren has provided for us to play on. We ask all members, who has a child playing in VBSA, or a child refereeing in VBSA, to get more involved with the soccer program in Van Buren. We have board meetings the 3rd Monday of every month at 7:00 up at the township hall on Tyler Rd. All members are welcome to attend. We are always looking for new & fresh ideas. If you have any questions or concerns, this is a good way to get more involved and to share your thoughts.
