Thank You 2006 League Sponsors
January 9, 2006 --
In order for our league to function, we rely on the generosity of people and businesses in our community. As you know, Wilton Manors Baseball is a non-profit organization and all donations received are used for league operations.
With the new leaders in our organization, we are driven to remove all red tape and get the program back on track. The children of our community are top priority.
A big thanks to the generous 2006 sponsors!
Special Thanks to Wilton Manors Commissioner Joe Angelo for his contributions
and his support!

WM Coach Pitch Wins Championship!
May 20, 2006 --
Cogratulations to John Halls Coach Pitch team, as they defeat the Coral Ridge team in the Championship game 18 to 9. Coach Hall took his team to the championship last year and finished #2. This year, Coach Hall brings the title home to Wilton Manors. All year long, both of the Wilton Manors Coach Pitch teams packed a punch and devoured their opponents. These kids are players and they are the future of our baseball program. Way to go Wilton Manors! The city is proud of your hard work and accomplishments!

Over 200 players, family members and friends attended this season's end of year banquet, just about doubling the attendance of the past few years. We would like to sincerely express our appreciation to all of the players, parents, family, coaches and volunteers that made this season a true success. Thank you Linda Thieman, Sherry Weber, Patty Schaefer,Kelly Hogan-Lewis,Gigi Wetherington, Bob Blume, Kris Erwin and the Hely family for all of their help. We would also like to give a special thanks to City Commissioner Joe Angelo, State Representative Jack Seiler and Fort Lauderdale's Head Baseball coach Terry Portice for taking time out of their busy schedules to show their support for the youth of our program. We are trying hard to make Wilton Manors Baseball a thriving sports program as it once was and judging by this years success, it appears that we are moving in the right direction.

Heart of a Champion
June 14, 2006 --
As I watched the final regular season game of the Wilton Manors Senior Division team, I found myself slowly drifting back in time to my younger years as a little-leaguer. It made me remember just what it was about playing the game that I loved so much. Whatever chemistry this team has, it certainly has some contagious mystique.
The 2006 Senior team is comprised of competitively eager young men, from both Northeast Little League and Wilton Manors Little League. At one time, these leagues were one anothers biggest rivals. Never in a million years would one ever imagine that players from these respective leagues would have each others backs on the playing field. Now, in a time of diminishing numbers, these leagues had to unite and become one in a effort to compete on the diamond as team-mates, but more importantly as friends.
In a combined effort that some said was destin for doom, these classy players from both leagues displayed hearts of champions,as they collaborated on a very succssful season. In fact, this years Seniors team ended up finishing 3rd, among the top 12 in the entire district during the District 10 Strong Team Tournament. This is a feat that has not been accomplished in Wilton Manors for over 10 years!
Wilton Manors Baseball is extremely honored and proud to have this team represent our community and both cities of Wilton Manors and Oakland Park/Northeast for the 2006 season.
We would like to acknowledge the 2006 Senior Division team members:
Mike Jelinek, Louis Agrella, Shawn Kinney, Mike MacDonald, Andrew Lobb, Casey Weber, Justin Weber, Chris Caiazzo, Tyler Gustafson, Gregory Hicks, Dean Gibson, Matt Jarvis, Ted Ramirez, Robbie Grose and Coaches Ted Ramirez and Woody Gibson. Special thanks to score-keeper and team Mom Renee Jelinek.
