 Spring Training Info

2010 TRIP DETAILS
Please find following the finalized travel information for our Titan Baseball teams to attend Cocoa Expo Spring Training. Any family planning on making the trip can feel free to coordinate their travel arrangements accordingly around the following flight times.

Notes:
- Families are NOT required to take the same flights as the team, although most families choose to do so for convenience sake.
- If family plans on going to Florida, send me your travel, lodging and car rental arrangement information, along with cell phone numbers so we can be sure to stay in touch with everyone in the event of game changes, etc. I keep a master list of all this information.
- Note that our return date is now late Friday, April 2nd (as opposed to Saturday, April 3rd).

Team Flight Information:
- Each family is on their own for flight arrangements.
- Note that flight times are always subject to change ... book by flight numbers -- not by times.

Pittsburgh --> Orlando
Saturday, Mar 27th, 2010
Airtran 998
3:48PM --> 6:04 PM
(was $144)
Now $187 + taxes & fees + $15 1st bag baggage fee / $25 for 2nd bag (on 11/9/2009)

Orlando --> Pittsburgh
Friday, Apr 2nd, 2010
SW 2635
8:30 PM --> 10:50 PM
(was $169)
Now $179  - no baggage fees (on 11/9/2009)

Cost:
- Airfares are always changing based on seats available, etc. It is always a gamble on trying to time getting the best available fare.
- Currently the team is paying a total of $389 total per player (plus Airtran baggage fees)
- I booked a small number of extra tickets for any parent who cannot get a better rate than that, but I would need to know by November 15th if you were interested ...otherwise I will release the seats.
- Note that Airtran charges baggage fees of $15 first bag and $25 second bag which would be additional cost to each Airtran passenger payable at airport at time of checkin.
- I recommend to book your tickets soon, as chances are the less expensive seats will sell out due to holiday week of travel.
- Let me know when you book your flights.

Accomodations:
Again, each family is on their own for accomodations. In past years, we've had families stay at hotels, houses and condos. I personally can only give you a recommendation on where I've stayed the past three years and will be again this year with great satisfaction.

Cape Winds Resort (has 1 or 2 bedroom condos available)
7400 Ridewood Avenue
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920
(321) 784-4311

- Ask for Linda
- Tell them you are with the "Patti Miller" group from West Mifflin Titan Baseball
- Price is $215/night for a 2-bedroom condo which has a master king bed, a room with 2 double beds and a full size pullout couch in the living room, a swimming pool and is beachfront. We've shared with 2-3 families to keep the cost down. I'm not sure the price of a 1-bedroom condo.
- Let me know where you have decided to book your accomodations.
- Send me any other recommendations where you may find a good deal so I can post for others.

Rental Cars / Transportation in Cocoa:
More information on this item forthcoming as I am working with a company to provide us with special arrangements and rates.
- If you want to begin researching and booking your own rental cars right now, then you can always cancel them if I find a better arrangement.
- I recommend using the Entertainment Book coupons which have provided a substantial savings in the past.
- Again, let me know what your transportation arrangements are when confirmed.

Good Luck with your planning your personal trip ... any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Patti Miller @ 412-913-6661.
