Alvin Youth YellowJackets was founded in 1984 as a 501c(3) non-profit organizations as a way to provide a youth tackle football and cheer/dance program to the kids in our community. We are affiliated with the Gulf Coast Premier Football League and USA Football’s Head’s Up Program (sponsored by the NFL), the national initiative to help make the sport of football safer for all who play. Our mission is to provide a safe and wholesome atmosphere for kids in our community to learn and practice sportsmanship, self-discipline, teamwork, leadership, respect, positive self-image, and responsibility. We encourage our athletes and their families to take pride in our team, our community, and our sponsorship program.
Alvin Youth YellowJackets football is made up of five football teams:
- PeeWee: Ages 5 – 6
- Freshman: Ages 7-8
- Sophomore: Age 9
- Junior: Age 10
- Senior: Ages 11 – 12
A limited number of players per team helps to maximize each player’s potential and development. After their first year with the Jackets they receive Legacy (Reserve) status for the remaining years in our organization and will to continue to play with the same teammates all 5 years and possibly into their Junior High and High School years!
Alvin Stingers is a program structured for girl’s ages 5 – 13 who would like to learn and participate in cheerleading and dance. Our Stingers learn and develop skills in confidence, coordination, teamwork, discipline and leadership. The Stingers will cheer during home and away games, and perform during half-time and compete in competition with the other cheer teams in GCPFL. Our Lil’ Stingers (ages 5-7) will also cheer during home and away games, perform during halftime, and have a showcase at cheer competition.
