Budd "Buddy" Maliandi Passed away Monday, September 9.  Buddy was a former player, coach and manager for the ADALIA FLOWERS softball team, Berkeley Senior Softball League.  Buddy was an original player, started when the Berkeley league first formed over 20 years ago.  Recently Buddy was honored at the 2013 picnic with a plaque as an over 80 player and his overall contribution to the this league.  "A great friend, player, coach and manager" - Wally Stinner (Player for SSP [SSP is now Curnow Law])

Obituary for George Terra-Nova

George Terra-Nova, Co-Manager and Player for Holiday Svc Ctr

George J. Terra-Nova, 76 of Lavallette, NJ died on Monday November 23, 2015 at Bayshore Nursing Home and Rehab in Holmdel, NJ. He was born in Jersey City, NJ. He had been living in Manchester, NJ the last three years while he rebuilt his home in Lavallette. George graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY with a BS. He was recently retired from his sales career in the Environmental Services Industry.
He is predeceased by his parents George and Estelle Terra-Nova

 

CARMINE BALLETTA

Carmine Balletta, former player and asst. mgr. of Holiday Service Center, passed away earlier this week after a long illness. Carmine was a feared hitter in the Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean 50’s leagues and played and managed Allstate to a State Class B Championship on 2003 along with five 60’s state championships for Rod’s Tavern. He was a dedicated player for years helping Holiday Service Center to many Berkeley championships before retiring in 2014.

DOMINICK PUGLIESE

 Domenick Pugliese, 71, of Barnegat passed Tuesday, June 19, 2018. He was born in Trenton, NJ where he worked as a teacher for the Board of Education before retiring to Barnegat. Domenick was an outstanding athlete who was inducted into the NJ Softball Hall of Fame.   Dominic introduction to the Berkeley League was with Mastapeter  Mastapeter won the B Division for three straight years,m 2012 - 2015.   In 2018 he was drafted by Holiday Svc Ctr in the Premier League.  Frank Dirobella, manager of Holiday Svc Ctr team, stated that, "Dominick was a pleasure to manage, the team loved when he pitched, he was a strike throwing machine, I wish I had 15 other players like him.  A true competitor, sportsman and team player.  He will be missed by all.  He had he winning hit to beat Ryan on the day he passed (June 21, 2018 at Veterans Park)
